wow her coat is looking much better!!! yeah my gsd is allergic to basically everything.. the WDJ article was i THINK from last year or the year before, you might be able to search for the article if they have a search button. its something candidia i am probably spelling it wrong LOL. i would ask for a stronger rx and another month worth.. Thanks, ME, her coat IS looking better...you know I've had minor coat problems with Murphy and my cats a few times, but they were easily corrected with diet change/supplements. Major allergies scare me, and I guess I'm worried that she'll have chronic problems. Even when I fed Murph raw, I didn't notice a big difference w/his coat...I guess it always looks good whether he's eating kibble or fresh foods. Now when it comes to orthopedic stuff, he's a mess! I found the WDJ article...was the 2/07 issue,I'm going to read it tonight. She hasn't had her thyroid checked...I'll ask about it, but she doesn't have any other symptoms..so I doubt they'd recommend it. But I'll bring it up...

So Daisy's skin continues to improve :-) The pimples are disappearing, and her coat is getting softer and smoother. The one thing I couldn't "fix" was the smell....she was getting more of a yeasty smell. The Malaseb spray worked on the yeasty spots on her feet...but overall she had a yeasty smell...not coming from one particular spot. The Malacetic wasn't working that well I guess...which is a bummer b/c I've always had good results with that product. I really wanted to try a Tea Tree Oil rinse on her, but I couldn't find any info in my aromatherapy book about how much to dilute Tea Tree for use on dogs. Tea Tree is really potent, and it's awesome for yeast and bacteria, but I didn't want to use too much. Then I found a Tea Tree shampoo by Earthbath. I was skeptical until I took a whiff of it...LOL it definitely had real Tea Tree oil. I've used another shampoo that had Tea Tree and Oatmeal, but it didn't smell anything like Tea Tree...was a rip off. But wow, 2 thumbs way up for this Earthbath shampoo!! I only had to let it sit on her skin for 5 mins, and it really worked. I really love Tea Tree oil, I wish I thought of this earlier!
