sussex is north, toward PA/NY border on the maps... we have 2 ski resorts up here, and one in the summer is a water park www.mountaincreek.com , the appalachain trail is up here, TONS of riding stables, antique shops etc... its quiet, relaxed, no malls up here, the nearest big one is almost an hour away, small shops, lots of land... the only bad thing up here is when its winter its COLD, and if we get hit with a snowstorm we get hit hard, last big one we had we got over 2 feet at once... winters up here go from halloween until april..

i remember the other part of teaneck to the left of route 4, go all the way down and there was horses there a long time ago, when i was in my 20's... it was off an exit off route 4, the one right after Fairleigh Dickensen, make a left off the exit, and take that all the way down to the other side of town.. maybe thats where your horse came from.

I think Murphy would be in heaven...Daisy, not so much LOL.

That's nice, esp since I'm used to a much slower pace LOL. Do you like your vet up there? I used a vet in Rockland County NY after Katrina that I love. Maybe I should move within decent driving distance of them LOL.

i use 5 different vets for different things, my regular vets (3) are in one office , then there is another vet that i love for different stuff, and another vet in fairlawn for specialty stuff. my regular 3 vets are awesome, they dont charge me for office visits, and give me free meds and stuff all the time, plus i dont pay for nail clippings either.. its a slower pace up here for sure, nice and relaxed.. if you want to get into agility there are 2 awesome places, Golden Rule School for dogs in andover, and Skyline Agility in Garnersville NY near rockland county.

i am around an hour from teaneck, i used to live in paramus bergen county, but moved around 50 miles away to the sticks in nj... my gyn has been in teaneck for over 20 years . mary was the paddock off route 4 ? The 'jersey sticks? Sounds like my neck of the woods, except you have bears in your backyard (I hope there's no bears in mine).

Would you believe we have deer down by me? More and more sightings, and in the spring you'll see babies galore at the park I am planning to hold Pit Bull-palooza at. Luca is sooooo baffled by deer. He is not really sure what they are, he just knows they should probably be eaten.

Weird, I think it was 2-3 yrs ago my brother was leaving my parent's house in Teaneck early in the AM....he saw a deer on my neighbors lawn! We've never seen deer near us...Murphy has never seen a deer, I have no idea how he would react. If it's anything like when he sees a horse...lots of barking and releasing his anal glands...lots of fun :-(

Oh noooezzzz! Poor thing (and poor you for having to smell that!)
Luca was very stealthy around horses. I was testing him out around my horses years ago, when he was still a young'en and when we approached my App mare, he made a flying leap for her nose. Yeah, I kept him away from horses after that.
