K, gonna move this to the tattoo thread.......
I wanna see pix of your Ophelia tattoo!!!!!
I went last week to see my artist. We were laughing because his partner just got done tattooing someone who used some sort of numbing gel - which didn't work because the guy was shaking and ready to pass out after like 15 min. He left and the artist goes, "Yeah, he's not coming back......"
Anyway, pain is part of the tattoo game and if you cannot take it, don't get a tattoo! Having said that, the inside of my arm is the one area that when I have work done on it, I seriously in the moment regret my decision to get tattooed.

Between my 2 tats, I've found a LOT of the pain depends on the artist. The girl who did my first 2"x2" tattoo was REALLY heavy-handed and that sucker bled for days and hurt for weeks - not even kidding. I'd randomly wake up for the first 2 weeks feeling stabbing pain in the area. My other 2"x2" tattoo I hardly felt, and it was in the same type of area but done by a guy who was light-handed and after the first half of the outline was done, I was numb and could hardly feel it.
Now if only I had the $ and an idea for what I want my next tattoo to be... The possibilities are endless!

WTF? ^ Bleeding for 2 weeks = not normal at all.

This one isn't bleeding as much as what...goozing? ... already feeling prouder of my arms, something I never showed off much before. Now I have to figure a workout that will add some muscle-protect against getting them "batwings" some women get at a certain age...Whoohooo midlife, bring it on, I'm ready!

You might have bleeding during and directly after and a little oozing is normal, but by the next day oozing and bleeding would signal a problem.
You'll have some raised skin/swelling for a little while after, but you should not be bleeding, oozing or scabbing with a properly done and cared-for tattoo.
At my WORST, my swelling is gone in about 24 hours and bleeding stops within minutes after the tattooing stops (I am bleeding a lot with my arm, too).

Agreed. I never had any bleeding/oozing after my tattoos. You might want to have that checked out.

The tat was fine - the girl straight up GOUGED at my back and she had a great reputation at an excellent shop. It bled for probably 2 or 3 days, but that was all... it was the stabbing pain I had for 2 weeks. The worst of the bleeding was obviously right after it was done, but it would bleed just a little each time I washed it for at least 2 days after. It's been years since I've gotten a tattoo so I don't really remember. I just remember the healing was MUCH faster on the second one.

After 4 days it's changed to just itchy and scratchy...I know...Must.Not.Touch. Can finally comfortably wear a sleeve over it. Those first few days wish I could've gone topless with the bad sunburn feeling. Girls at the dogpark were impressed...that a bookish gramma can have badass tats...heeheehee
