I am looking to volunteer at a rescue to help work with the pibbles. I would go to LHS but they are too far for me to commute after work, if anyone knows of a rescue that has pibbles and that can use an extra hand i would appreciate it. Thanks guys.

Are you interested in fostering, walking dogs, training? We need fosters and assistants for classes.

At the moment i can't foster but as soon i can i would love to. I would be to walk dogs, I would like to help with training as well as socialization and just about whatever else I can do. Being an assistant at the classes sounds good as well. My name is Kevin btw.

Hi Kevin, if you think you'd like to assist at classes, you are welcome to come down and attend any time. We hold classes on Saturday mornings in Cranford at 10am.
You'd attend sans dog and get a feel for what we do/teach, and gradually begin to assist by helping people maintain safe distances between dogs, instruct students on leash-handling, help individuals who may be struggling with a specific lesson, etc.
You may also want to take your dog through an entire class for learning purposes and then assist in subsequent classes. All depends on your interest. This is all we currently have available in terms of working specifically with any dogs.

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures....I wasn't sure if anyone would be uncomfortable with me snapping pics of them and their dogs. Next time I'll bring my camera though.

We want to respect the privacy of the people at the classes and especially because some dogs who attend are reactive, their owners are already stressed and may not welcome flashing cameras; and cameras could be distracting or upsetting (there is at least one dog in class that is very easily 'set off' by new things in the environment. Since next week is gradutuation, if everyone feels comfortable, I may take a few pictures. But I would prefer in general, cameras were kept out of class.
