My parents have always had Labs and Ive never met a protective Lab of anything lol.
All of their Labs have always been people greeters. Ive never heard of a Lab used for guarding chickens, they are a hunting dog Usually they want to go after birds. Lol.
I think they are a pretty easy going breed. Typically good around other dogs and people. Their prey drive can sometimes get them into trouble. Ive met Labs that are bouncing off the walls wired all the time and Labs that just want to lay around and chill all the time.
lol, Did that help you at all?! Lmao!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a gentleman in our community give me a big box of deer antlers for the dogs.
My question is what do I all need to do with them prior to giving them to my dogs so they are safe & sanitary (If that makes sence? lol ).
Thank you!!

If you want a dog who... Strong-willed mind of his own, requiring a confident owner who can take charge This is a complete UNDERSTATEMENT when every day Im dragging Capone & Bola out the door to go to the bathroom because its cold. They hide when they hear 'time to go potty' then drop until you carry or drag them out..... Lol! Strong willed to say the least.

Why is there sooooo much drama in the rescue world?!?!?
I really dont understand it. I would THINK anyone to heavily involved in rescue work is out of high school, why dont they act like it???
I FINALLY submitted my papers so I can advertise my rescue dogs on Pet Finder. Facebook is just too much drama.
Had a big, well known rescue jump me for taking in 'bully breeds'. They are in a town with BSL and the director is a complete nazi of the dog world.
Woke up to a lovely email from her chewing me out about bringing more 'vicious' dogs into the area (Theyre an hour away). Went back and forth with her for awhile before I wrote it off as a lost cause ONLY to have more drama on a Facebook group over a Cocker Spaniel that is living in the cold and in desperate need of help.
I could just about explode!

That dog has some serious self control. My dogs would gobble up that food the second your hand left it. Lol.
I cant say anything either because Bola, our oldest guy, ALWAYS looks sad. He has the saddest face 24-7. But on the other hand, I cant imagine any dog enjoying this. :/

Im sorry Michele, IDK what you mean Melonie, I will definetly try that. I have video on her behaviors in the beginning and video now showing how far she's come. It's so hard. Everytime I look at her she makes me want to cry. She's doing sooo well in my care. I was hoping shed get released, I'd continue training her then find her a perfect, understanding, POSITIVE training home because that's what she needs. Any punishments or corrections would send her straight back to her old self.

I dont understand how any dog that is confinscated more or less due to abuse and neglect can end up with that same person. The entire situation is unbelieveable. I never would have dreamed hed win the case. It breaks my heart.
