Your absolutely right, which is one reason why I decided to comment in this thread to begin with (I don't post too much here). I wanted it to be known that this particular breeder is NOT a reputable one and should NOT be supported no matter how "pretty" his dogs are.

Well personally when I am ready I will adopt, however, there is one thing that kinda rubs me the wrong way. Now I don't want to ruffle any feathers but I don't agree with people who say that when a person buys from a breeder they are "adding" to the euth problem. That statement isn't true. They may not be helping but they are definitely not adding to the Pit overpopulation problem. (Unless they don't keep their dog) For example, if there is a shelter nearby that has 20 Pit Bulls and I decide to get my dog from a breeder, which I have NO intention on doing, that shelter still has 20 Pit Bulls. Not 21, which means I did not contribute to the euth problem.

I wouldn't buy from a breeder who says, "I breed these dogs for fun and would be a sellout if I didn't express how I really feel about how my race is being treated." I don't want a dog from a person who breeds dogs for fun. No one should do that and if he's not a backyard breeder than i don't know who is.

hey loverocks, are you in NJ? Because i am interested in volunteering at an animal shelter to help train and socialize pitties but LHS is very far from where i live. I just wanted to know if you (or anyone else for that matter) knew of another place that has a program for pitties in central NJ.

You're definitely not doing the breed a disservice...i actually feel the opposite because the breeds past should understood and hidden. It isn't the "best" past in the world and can be a little intimidating to some people but I would rather it be said and than covered up. And you are FAR from the "bad guy" and the people that say you are either aren't knowledgeable about the breed or in denial about the truth. Keep doing what your doing your helping the breed as a whole more than you know. And I for one appreciate your efforts greatly.

You should be mom of the year you quite possibly saved your daughter from something that could have been serious. What did the owner of the dog or owners of the house saw when you spoke to them?
