I am tired of storing dog food on my kitchen table, but I don't have anywhere else to put it safely out of dog reach, yet still accessible to me. I decided to purchase a storage tote to put the bag in and then set it on the floor in the kitchen. I had attempted to spend some time outside w/ the boy dogs, but that ended abruptly when a neighbor kid began riding his bike back and forth in front of my house, with his puppy chasing him. So, we went back inside. I noticed Miss Wrinkles had managed to tub the tote about 3 feet, and chewed the lid until she got it off, and dragged it into her crate. The dog food was untouched. I put the lid back on, shoved the tote back where I had it. A few minutes ago I had to retrieve the lid from her crate again. Now, I have a tote on the kitchen table.

I keep mine in the bathroom with the door closed. Jackson used to find ways to get to it.

My mom keeps it in the closet in her bedroom in a dog food storage bin. And I keep it in my linen closet in a dog food storage bin. They are tall and narrow with wheels and got cheap at tractor supply. I dont leave it out because I am sure Rocky can figure out how to open it. His raised dog dish has a storage compartment under it suppose to be for food. I never even tried to keep food in there. He would definitely help himself. How bout an extra crate? you could keep food in there. Under a table with fabric over it so you dont have to look at it. How bout under bed storage container they have those at wallmart. I keep shoes in them because I have very little storage. They have like a flip up lid. Not sure how much food you could keep in it or if it would be safe for the food but just another thought. A really good one might be to go to home depot or lowes and get one of those metal garbage cans. They are nicer looking than totes I think. You can even paint a cute little dog food label. THe lids go on tight and can probably easily put something on the lid like velcro from the lid to the handles. Tractor supply had smaller ones meant for bird seed which I bought to use as an ash can for fireplace. Probably good size for dog food.

My pantry holds the food for Winston and Cleveland. Just really no place else to stash it. I need a bigger home, but that isn't happening for at least 2 years! I will just deal with it in the table. The trash can lives there too, so I guess its not that big of a deal!

I thought about getting the latching lid type, but they only had small ones.

Yeah, mine only fits 15lbs of food, so I have to get the medium bags.

SO here is what I do. Mine does not fit all in one either. The bulk goes in the bigger one. THen they make small ones with the latches has a handle on them and latches. I got from walmart for 5.00 it is meant for keeping files in. anyway that holds about 2 weeks of food maybe more. Holds quite a bit.
