Took Rocky to the 4th of July parade and bed race for his birthday! Someone asked what kind of dog is that, some kind of mix? My response was American Pit bull terrier. Firetrucks went by people with dogs, lots of silly drunks having fun and so on. Rocky just laid in the grass watching and chilling. These people were amazed with how laid back and carefree he is. Then I told them he was a therapy dog and an older lady sitting there got the joy of having rocky stand next to her and get pets. Then we moved on for the bed race. Rocky got so much attention as he watched the race. People were actually talking to him and they all said how he reminds them of the our gang dog,Petey. Then someone went by with little dogs in wagons. Those things freaked out on Rocky and Rocky tucked his tail and backed up. The whole crowd laughed and said Rocky your not afraid of those little yippers are you? Your a big dog dont be scared. It was actually quite funny. Rocky sh*t his pants that these things were going to go at him. We had fun. but it got too hot and Rocky started complaining and whining out loud again getting people talking to him. So it was time to go, everyone was disappointed that it was time for him to go home. As was Rocky who I could not for the life of me get back in the car. Had to put the seats down so I could lift him through the back door where it is lower so I could lift him just enough to push him through. I have no photos Sorry.

glad Rocky had a good birthday! It's funny that he didn't want to leave, just like a kid.

Yeah he does this to me when we go on hikes etc. The only time I dont have a big problem is at the vet. LOL he still does not really want to leave there either he just does not resist as much but yesterday not even throwing treats in the back worked. I literally had to pick up 70lbs by the harness and push him in. Not fun with my bad back. I got so annoyed at him but he was happy when I left the window down and let him hang his head out as it was just a short slow ride home.

Aww, good job Rocky!
I remember those days. Our old lab mix loved going places, hated coming home. We'd have to bribe her or just plain lift her into the jeep

I remember having Pablo out in front of the house to watch the Halloween parade that Bordentown put on every year. Pablo was generally quite fearless, but someone should have warned him about those pompom girls! Rhythmic drums and pompoms - the stuff of nightmares ...
