So this morning I stopped into the library book sale room. Some books donated some pulled from the shelf. Looking through the dog books I came upon some books. Suddenly I noticed a book called The World of Dog Fighting and a bunch of AM Staff and Staffie books. I did leave one Staffie Bull book but I may go back and get it. I intend to post them and send them to anyone who would be interested in having them. But I am curious is The World Of Dog Fighting a decent book on the history or is it one of those awful books. All the books still in the back of my car. I also picked up a bunch of tractor books for my son who is in school for Heavy Equipment operation and repair.

The Carl Semencic one? It's not a bad book, Semencic has a decent knowledge of the dogs, but there are better authors out there. (I have the book, I do think it's worthy to add to your collection.)

if they're cheap, get them all... you can always sell them on ebay or donate them to a raffle

They cost whatever I want to donate to the library. I gave them 5.00 and took a good 20 books. And anyway figured better for me to have a dog fighting history book than some other a hole. Been seeing a few interesting characters with the breed lately in my community. hmmmm wonder what the library would think about a lecture on the history of dog fighting. Heck they are doing one on african big game hunting. I am going to it although I do not like hunting, I am interested in history, And although I do not like hunting I am a member of the NRA so I am going to support someone else who has worked hard to present a lecture. He is an author of a book on the history of the hunt and Roosevelt. It will probably be difficult for me as I love those animals and can not imagine shooting an animal.

Ok here are the books I picked up. The World Of fighting Dogs- by Dr. Carl Semenicic hard cover American Staffordshire Terriers by Katherine Nicholas soft cover American Pit Bull Terriers and Staffordshire Terriers a barrons book soft cover The Staffordhire Bull Terrier by W.M. Moreley (seems to include some interesting history facts by thumbing through) also has a sticker of 21.99 hardcover The Book of The American Pit Bull Terrier by Richard F. Stratton hardcover The Staffordshire Terriers: American Staffordshire terrier and the staffordshire bull terrier by Katherine Nicholas hardcover
Should I keep these? At first I thought some of the members here might like to have them but if I picked up a good collection maybe they were meant to be mine. Now I am wondering who owned them. I thought everyone in this little village who goes to the library would know about my advocacy and would have come to my programs and told me they had all these books. I am sure these are donated as I never saw them on the shelves and they have no sign of being a library book. The other book is also a hardcover so I am going down to get it. As I said I also picked up a collection of John Deere and antique tractor books for my son and a chevrolet book for my husband and a Chuck Yager book for my older son . I never ever had such success at finding so many good books at the book sale room. OMG and I just realized I was able to get books for everyones passion in my house I even got a craft book for my mom. It must mean something. Im going back now.

I would be super duper interested in the SBT book and "The Staffordshire Terriers" if you're willing to part with them!!!! What was the other SBT book? I'd probably be interested in that one, as well!

I dont know what the other book is going back down to get it. There were also Koehler training books which I am not interested in. But maybe someone else is. The SBT books when I first saw them thought of you, Cat! There were also some great Cat books. I dont know anything about Cats. Seems like someone got rid of their animal collection of books.

I will look them over and I might be willing to give up one of the SBT books if it turns out to be quite similar to the others. But I really feel like someone sent me too them. I was in the Library renewing a book for my son who is taking a childrens lit class, i told librarian that that childrens lit book would cost me 150.00 to buy but an older version I have been renewing as long as no one puts a hold then I cant renew and will have to pay fine which will at this point be no more than 5.00 anyway. She suggested going to the book sale room to see if possibly that book could be for sale. Did not find it but found something for everyone in the family.

At Christmas you can just say, "Remember that book I got you?" Lol! It's nice that they appreciated them, though!

Tim got me "The Staffordshire Terriers" for Christmas! It's a pretty great book. Some of the information about breeders is a little out of date (they aren't all breeding anymore), but most of the information is great and it has a lot of good photos! Have you looked at that one yet, CA? If not, check it out, it's pretty cool!

^ I have that book, I love it for all the wonderful pictures of great dogs. I had gotten that around the time Luca came home and I was researching his pedigree (lots of relatives in the book).
