Aversive dog trainers get under my skin more than just about any other type of person. Not just because of how they train but the dellusional state most of them insist on existing in and their ignoarance of science is maddening. CA, search Tyson Kilmer on FB, he has a public page you can read without having to "like" it. The conversation Cat, Emily and I were involved in yesterday is on a picture of a little red Pit Bull puppy being strangled into a down position. On the flip side, Michele and I were laughing SO HARD last night over the Mac Book/iPad thing. |

Mary I did look at his page. And if you are talking about the fearful little red next to someone in red sneakers, then I think your comments were deleted. Or are you talking of a different photo?

The picture has the caption, "the battle" on it. I wouldn't be surprised if he deleted my comments, he was doing that to a lot of people.

 Tyson Kilmer Yelp Review -Where does one start, this man preys on women, if you do go to see him make sure your brother, husband or boyfriend is there if you want him to treat you with respect. The trainer at my local Pet-smart got more done then the $3000 I spent on this low life! I left my dog with him for what I thought was "Grade A" training. After about 2 to 3 weeks I pick up my dog, he was 10 lbs lighter the skin on his neck and behind his ears was scabbed from Tyson's strangle collar training, and hair missing in patches on his hind quarters, when I asked him what happened, Tyson said allergies!!!! My dog has never had allergies! One of this classes he was yelling in a women face calling her stupid and F*ckin retarded and he didn't need to waste his time on her and her F*ckin stupid dog (reminder, she paid Tyson Kilmer and he has the nerve to talk like that )! WOW WOW WOW about three weeks after getting my boy back I took him to vet for his shots and she wanted to know her words "who was abusing my dog, and for how long". The patches of hair missing on his hind quarters were due to stress, he still has scared tissue on his neck and behind his ears from Tyson Kilmer training (we haven't been to a class for about a year now) And I look at those scares and I prey that no one goes to this dirt bag for training. Pet-smart did more for him then Tyson Kilmer! |

That review is awful.  The poor dog. I can't believe people trust their beloved pets with this moron. There is one woman that a member of the beyond CM group has been PMing on FB who is absolutely blinded by this guy. She told the Beyond CM lady that "Her dog was removed from the litter early and bit her daughter at 8 weeks old (normal, right? Especially for a dog who has no bite inhibition that she should have learned from her mum and litter mates) so Tyson graciously took the pup from her and 'rehabilitated' her for 7 MONTHS! then gave her back. And she praises him for "saving" her dog... " How on earth did he need 7 Months of training for an 8 week old puppy to stop nipping people!? |

He's obviously an abusive psychotic manipulative predator who gets off on being "dominant" and anybody who falls for his BS is an idiot and an ignorant pet parent. All that crap in the FB comments about positive training being "bribing" is such psychobabble. And there is PLENTY of credible research based evidence to support the theories behind positive reinforcement and that completely disproves the theories behind negative reinforcement. But there were people advocating for corporal punishment for children on his FB page too, so of course they would have no problem terrorizing a dog. I couldn't get involved in the FB discussion. Even reading that crap was making me  . And these psychos are not going to change their minds... they're like zealots in some kind of cult. "Stop talking about "laws" and "research" and "science" - you're just negative and uneducated because you only care about facts!" That's my paraphrasing, but that pretty much sums it up.   |
