Ok guys, I have another situation.  Apparently I am the one to reach out to around here when Pits are in need. There is a lady that lives about 2 hours away and runs a small dog rescue. She has had this Pit named Twister in her care for a year and a half. No one wants him, except this woman that at one point helped Kim (the dog rescuer). This woman is now.strung out on drugs living with shaddy people and living only 3 miles away from Kim. Kim has her dogsinin a heated outdoor building with a lock on it but she is. Sure that these people are going to steal him. She's sent reached out to me because she's been debating. Putting him down for his safety if he wasn't adopted soon, she asked me if I could foster him and her and I could continue looking for a home for him. I can do it temporarily but would really like this boy to get a home!! Capone is dog aggressive with males other than Bola so its going to be. Crate and rotate which I have not been having to do. If I can't find a home for him, he's going to have to be put down.  There's not enough good Pit homes around here. Does anyone have any ideas?????? Any rescues, anyone interested????????? I will deliver. Even if I have to drive to NJ I'd do it to save this boy. I'll post pics later. He's neutered, good with dogs, he's been around little kids, not sure about cats yet, house broke, crate trained. Thanks guys. |

Hey lady I tried to call you but ur mail box was full. I've come to a sort of emergancy with Twist. I may have a home for him but it wont be for a month. Scary thing is theres a local drug addict that has wanted him, she has been pestering me about it but knows she doesnt meet the requirements. She just called me and is now living just 3 miles from my house with some nasty ppl . These ppl wt think twice about steeling him. Is there any way you can take him? I trust you to find him a loving home that will take care of him. please call me when you get this if you have time. I really dont know what to do.
She lives out in the country btw.
I've dealt with her before and helped her with a difficult dog in the past, she is an amazing person , I know she wouldn't be trying to play around with me.

The home she was talking about fell thru btw as well. They were going to buy a house but weren't eligible for a loan.

Nice looking boy! That stinks the possible home fell through. Will the rescuer be still helping with his food and vet or will that be on you?

I think on me. I'm getting concerned lol, she's on her way with him now and no one else has commented on this and I haven't had anyone else interested any where else. :/
I'm afraid I'm going to end up getting to be the one witthe wonderful duty of taking a dog in to be euthanized........
I've been trying to find someone amungst my friends and family. I've contact ed a rescue that's in MN. Crossing my fingers that I'm wrong.

Amy Jo, I really really cannot promise you anything but I will ask around with my contacts in the midwest. As you know, there are just way too many dogs in dire need and too few people who are willing to step up. Every rescue I know is completely overwhelmed right now. But I will do my best.
PM me with any more background info you can share.

Oh my... if I had the resources for another dog right now (and room/pens/doors/etc for rotating a DA dog around my puppy) I would take him in a heartbeat. He is so beautiful. I don't know many people in your area, but I really hope you can find him a good home and don't have to euthanize him. |

Nyri I dont think she said he is DA, I think AmyJo's dog Capone is the one that is showing DA. So Amy Jo you are officially fostering?

Yep, my dog is dog aggressive. He is now in my care. He is dog SELECTIVE. Fine with dogs that are not dominant. Cats are a no go. He is amazing in the house, just wants to cuddle and be loved. Hoping and praying something comes up for him. Any help is appreciated thank you guys.  |

Some dumb a@@ on another forum told me to shoot him because that's obviously what's meant to be and that the whole situation seems funny.
