Great article, so very true.
My favorite line was: "How can he be so good at his Sit Stays, but so bad at “keeping his shit together”?! "
I've had that kind of feeling with Chubby. He will tear his toys and any staffed things he finds to shreds (and then tear those shreds into smaller shreds) and when his trainer witnessed this she cautioned that he would probably severely hurt small dogs and cats and squirrels. But Chubby is scared to death of cats and has zero interest in squirrels and is amazing with little dogs and take correction from them very well.
I've often wondered how he is so good with some things and terrible with others.

A dog wouldn't be normal without issues. Nice article. I found reactivity to be very different in not only my dogs, but with most dogs I know. Sedona reacts by shutting down, Lola becomes alert but non-aggressive until the focus of her reaction is close enough to bite, and Rocky only reacts aversely if a dog enters his personal bubble, which is usually around 2-3 feet around him. Leash is not a factor in my dogs, thankfully. But even those conditions vary by situation. Odd that they are not the same. Maybe they are individuals?

I do not view the dog selectivity as her being a bad dog…comes with territory however, her separation anxiety has gotten worse and worse. My mom always says I don’t get it she is so sweet and well behaved. Translation- why is she such a freak show with the separation anxiety thing.

Loved that article. For everything that Wrinkles has been through pre-rescue, I feel I have it easy. I don't view the dog selectivity as bad either. We have pit bulls /mixes. You have to anticipate that, it's a breed trait.
