My daughter called me yesterday to tell me her friends American Bulldog had a litter of 10 male puppies. They're Am Bulldog and Lab mix. This isn't the dogs first litter of mutts.
My first thought was 'how many of these will end up in the shelter', my second, 'how many ppl will think these are pit mixes'.
I walk a fine line of being ok with breeding, and not being ok with it. This, I'm not ok with. Once is an accident. Multiple times is not.

People that bring giant breed dogs into their homes, and fail to train them... are aholes. We have an 11 month old Saint. at the shelter. She's a big dog! She does know sit, but that's it. The first day I was with her we just hung out and stayed mellow. The second day I pushed to see what she was like. She plays wild and rough, and her excitement level goes form 0-10 very quickly. She gets mouthy, and crazy! It wasn't easy bringing her back down. I quit talking to her, turned away and pulled my hands in. I gave a stern 'sit', and she responded I praised a good girl. But she wasn't done, she bolted across the room like a crazy loon. Did I mention she's huge? lol Once she calmed down, she went back to trying to be a lap dog. She's very affectionate and sweet. But wow! I put her on a NILF routine. I left the clicker at home, but next time I'm taking it with me.

When Matilda was a wee 8 lb babe, I carried her down the stairs and when she was bigger, I trained her that stairs were not bad and how to go up and down.
I'm doing some renovations to my condo and ripped up all the carpet on the stairs and removed all the carpet tacks. I've just painted the risers so far and have to wait for some rit dye to come in to do the treads.
But it seems we are having to relearn the stairs.
George is just like whatevs, my crate and the bed are up there

Stupid random irrational fear: Last night Winston slept with my daughter, which is rare. Usually if a dog sleeps with her, they come back to my room after she gets up for school. When I woke up this morning and Winston wasn't sleeping with me. (well after Aryn went to school) It worried me so much that I couldn't go back to sleep. I called for him, but he didn't come to me, so I had to get up and go find him to make sure he was ok. Of course, he was fine. He was curled up in his chair happy as could be. #damndog

FYI, if you have a new laptop or desktop with Win 8, I cannot recommend classic shell enough. It turns your task bar back to Win 7 and doesn't take 20 minutes to reboot the damned thing

If don't know where Chubby is and I call him, if he doesn't come walking over to me within like .05 seconds my brain is all "He's dead! He died and you didn't even notice! He's dead somewhere in the house!" and then he come lumbering over 3 seconds later wondering whats all the fuss and I just say "Hi Chubs! Its ok, you can't go back to sleep, mama is just crazy" my brain is a huge jerk sometimes.

I was the kid that liked clowns. I collected clown knick knacks, I had a couple of oil paintings, my step mom made me a gorgeous embroidery thingy, and my grandmother made me a clown quilt, hand embroidered each clown. I also had clown bedspread, etc. Not even Stephen Kings Pennywise scared me. But the Staten Island clown might make me have to visit a bathroom. lol Kudos to the freak in the costume.

This baby goat is destroying my bathroom!
Little snot is too bad to live outside yet. Twice she escaped and went after the azaleas! Once the ground is soft, they are being pulled out. Until then, she must live inside and tear up my house!

I have a full on massive clown-phobia...at this point I just want to set up a barbed wire fence around staten island! Which is funny, because one of my closest friend's husband is a former clown and works in WI now in charge of the circus museum there (and he told me there is a Clown Museum a block away!!!). Excuse while I curl up into a ball in the corner and gently rock myself for a few hours.
