It was cool when other people started noticing that Inara had chilled out JUST a bit due to the Prozac. And sometimes if I forget to give her prozac or l-theanine for a day or two (I'm bad, I know), I notice right away on walks that she's more hectic.
I've heard that with Prozac you should start high and then taper to a lower dose if you can. I guess it works better to hit it with a bang? Inara used to be on 40mg/day, now she's on 20mg/day interspersed with 200mg of l-theanine/day.

With both foster dogs I've had on Prozac, we started lower and moved up, to make sure they didn't react to it negatively, as per my vet. Hmmm... I wonder.

my vet had me start lower too and work our way up for 2 of my dogs. i think it really depends on the vet as to whether they start high or low doses

IMO it's always better to start lower then go higher, that is ALWAYS how I've used psych meds, and I've had a bit of experience with Prozac. That being said, a taper OFF is very important.
