New here but not to pits. Have had them forever. January, 2015 I had to put my best friend of 12 years down due to a brain tumor. Biscuit was the best living creature God ever put on this earth. I am now ready to start over again, even at 63. I have started my research. I plan on looking at one tomorrow, just 4 weeks old, but will evaluate mom & dad. No rush due to the weather, but I am very anxious. If you know of any available please let me know.
I realize Biscuit cannot be replaced, but I just want to come close. He was perfect. He was not neutered, but he was never bred. I do not want to breed, but do want play drive. I have a yard but never had to close the fence, Biscuit would not go out without me. He never showed any aggression, even though he was game bred. He just wanted to play and give/receive affection. He walked on a leash when it was required by law, but I did not need one. Took everything gently, and I could take anything from him anytime, even food from his mouth. He obeyed all commands willingly and was a great travel companion. He did not eat off of the floor (pick up things to eat) and only chewed his chews and bones.
I am an experienced dog trainer and used to show dogs at conformation contests - all around the world. In 1995, in the Puerto Rico International Canine Federation Exhibition (FCI) I won Best In Show as well as the Obedience Trials with my dog Sodai (a Tosa).
I live in Central Jersey and am willing to help if anyone has a "problem" with their dog.
Thanks for listening.
