You have NO idea how this makes my heart smile! ;D Here, I posted a blog about Topanga's journey through rescue so far. nhpbr.blogspot.com/

Hey y'all! Look at this!!!! ;D (Dogs in order from left to right: Penny Lane, Austin, Topanga, Charlie Humans: Kat, Alicia, Tammy [Topanga & Austin's foster mom who's done an absolutely amazing job with these dogs!], Meghan) We went out to the park yesterday to scout for a location for our volunteer appreciation picnic. Well, Mrs. Topanga and Mr. Austin joined us and OMG!!! Just LOOK how PROUD our Panga is! She truly enjoys being a dog now and she lets herself relax and enjoy the moment instead of cowering in fear at new sights, sounds, smells and most of all new people and dogs! She met some new doggie friends yesterday and she completely opened herself up to them... rolling around in the grass on her back, exposing her belly and best of all... she wanted to play! ;D There were people out there that she'd never before seen and SHE approached them, with her tail wagging and shared her love and kisses with everyone!

Wow! Looking back at those first few series of pictures, you really can see nothing but progress and now a truly happy girl!
I remember you describing her during testing for RG, how is she now? Wasn't it Topanga where you said you've never had a dog do nothing before?

Wow! Looking back at those first few series of pictures, you really can see nothing but progress and now a truly happy girl! I remember you describing her during testing for RG, how is she now? Wasn't it Topanga where you said you've never had a dog do nothing before? It was and from what Tammy tells us, RG isn't a real problem. She doesn't play with toys much and she's happy to give up her stuff to people. Now since we moved Austin into the home, Topanga has started showing some "tude" when she's on the couch with Tammy or someone else and Austin comes over for some attention. Tammy, without missing a beat, says "And I look at her and tell her off and make her get down. If she can't share me, or the couch, she won't have "it"... simple as that." I tell ya, I LOVE this foster home! They are GREAT with these dogs and they take the initiative to work with the dogs at a pace that's good for the dogs and they don't ask questions or argue with our suggestions, requests or anything. They are naturals and need very little guidance, but Tammy will come to us with any issues or questions she may have if she isn't sure of what we would want them to do. And they keep us informed. They're just GREAT! Her husband has nicknames for both dogs too lol Austin is "Bat Boy" because his ears are just TOO cute! And Topanga is "Couch Girl" because her favorite spot in the house is on the couch cuddling with a people. Tammy's husband would actually like to adopt Topanga but Tammy has her heart set on fostering and giving Topanga what she needs, then helping the next dog that needs them after Topanga goes home. Did I tell y'all that I absolutely LOVE this family!?

She is just textbook for progress. It's like she literally shed her shell, just amazing to see. That last picture of her belly up really is worth a thousand words!
Excellent job you guys! Any prospects for a home or is she going to hang out a while longer?

She'll be with us for a little longer as she hasn't yet been retested and cleared of the heartworms. She'll go back next month for a recheck. Cross fingers everyone that we'll get an all clear. As for potential homes... a previous adopter did make a comment on facebook about her being a good match for Hobie and I couldn't agree more. Hobie was one of my fosters and he just has the most amicable temperament and personality... he's a dog that Topanga would get along with famously and I know she would LOVE being a part of this family. I'm not sure tho if Bo was serious. He had lovely senior mix when he adopted Hobie who has since passed on and I think they are taking their time to enjoy Hobie and grieve the loss of sweet Annie. If it's meant to be, I'm sure he'll be first in line to adopt Topanga when she's ready and I have not a problem one with her going home with him. He's already pre-approved to adopt from us again when he's ready.
