Paraphrasing a quote I once heard in regarding to using force/pain in dog training: "Why do humans use force and pain and physical manipulation to train dogs? Not because it's the only way, not because it works, not because it doesn't cause harm. We use it because *we can*." Take some time to consider this - I thought it was profound and important.
