I love the natural! The ears are all about emotion! Happy, sad and so on. I love the look of a dog with flopy ears or even one with the bat ears. I could never have done Meadow's ears. She was too cute just the way god created her but I think shes got perfect ears!!!! But to each there own!

Is there any reason for cropping other than just for looks? Nope. Not anymore anyways let them keep their ears

You wouldn't cut off your childrens ears would you? Why do it to the dogs?

I hate certain terminology that sort of glosses over a thing to help it seem something other than what it is.....like, 'cropping' should be called 'ear amputation' or 'cutting the ears off'.....maybe calling it what it is would give some people pause to think. The way some people brush it off like it ain't no thang bigger than getting your nails clipped is pretty upsetting to me.

As a breed enthusiast (of many, many breeds) and a love of conformation showing, the asthetics appeal to me. I like nice, correct conformation and cropped ears (nice crops) enhance certain dog's appearance, IMO.
Horrible crops on the other hand are not only unattractive, they are almost abusive for putting the dog through something and it turn out wrong or really wrong...if that makes sense.
I have never had any of my dog's ears cropped and would not. Cajun would look silly with cropped ears and my black girl would look really scary and enough people are afraid of her as it is.
Plus I'd miss it when one of her ears flops over the top of her head in that quirky way!
I like the way they look when done professionally and humanely but keeping them natural helps soften breed perception and looks too stinkin cute.
Europe recently banned ear cropping and tail docking, btw.

I love the aesthetics, too, but cannot justify that as reason for cropping. And several breeds I like have cropped ears - and I think look much better with cropped! I would love to have a Beauceron one day, but admit that UNcropped doesn't appeal to me anywhere near as much as the cropped does, from a superficial standpoint....With APBTs/AmStaffs, I just adore their natural ears, they are just so yummy and perfect, although a bad ear set - or bad crop job - can do a lot to ruin expression. You can shrug off a bad ear set as nature/God's way, but a bad crop job is just a sin Just some ramblin's from moi. ;D
