General moves out of Camp Denver after 4 year term
My fatal attraction to Denver, CO began in the Spring of 2005 when news of Denver's brutal breed ban made the LA Times. and sickened by the shameful ignorance of city leaders to outlaw good family dogs - targeting them to be hunted and destroyed in the name of public safety - I was immediately recruited to fight the war on breed discrimination.
Denver became my Ground Zero in the Battle of Breed Bans as panic hit the streets when animal control and police officers with carte blanche invaded private homes and yards, confiscating dogs reported to be 'pit bulls' or any unfortunate mixed breed of dog sporting a pit bull look - my own lovable, Brad Pit, a knock off for target practice by Denver's Dog Gestapo! See our photo together on the blog address below...
Roverultion.org was the counterattack as I sounded alarm bells to dog owners everywhere and enlisted their help. That Call to Action was heeded by hundreds of dedicated dog owners who fondly became my Rovers - proudly signing up for dog duty missions whenever there was a need for gunfire: emails, letters and phone calls.
Early this year Colorado and California Rovers gave wings to DenverKillsDogs.com - exposing the disastrous results of the ban and putting focused pressure on Denver to stop the senseless killing of innocent dogs.
Gloriously, after four long years of battle, I joined the first protest rally ever organized against the ban on August 25th - catch photos of the Denver rally and my rant to Mayor Hickenlooper and the incompetent city council members who voted for the ban:
