Michele I was so mad at the collar change it wasn't funny! the dogs I have aren't fatheads so the collars slip off unless snug enough to choke. The martingales helped Laura get a handle on Dilly without losing her in the chute. Then the pinheaded Sighthound has his own issues. This collar has just enough play to snug up and stop a slip out so works for me!

Martingale/buckle hybrids are the best.

I am going to have to invest in one of those collars. I typically use a buckle collar. However, when my parents have to let Harley out I have them use the martingale as it is easier for them and this way I do not have to worry she will slip the reg. collar. Watching my mom trying to put the sensation harness on Harley and then trying to explain to her that she needed to clip the leash to the harness and collar was comical!

Mary it was truly frightening...LOL She couldn't even get the leash on her collar and the harness was wrapped around her leg!

I love martingales for Rocky as his neck and head are like same size. I like the ability to just take it on and off without having to buckle. And the new harness I bought I have been told they can not get out of it. Rocky is one of those dogs who puts on the breaks when he wants to stop at the pet store or for ice cream. He could easily slip out of a collar when he does this. It is one annoying behavior but I know exactly when and where he is going to do it. It is routine.
