Hi,
I'm happy to say that I may have found a new home for our foster girl Powder. The lady saw her ad on PRBC. She had recently lost her pittie of 12 years to cushings. She was a rescue as well.
She has no other pets, has her own home and pit experience. I hope this works out for Powder. I of course requested updates and visits. Oh, and she lives just about 20 minutes away and in the same town that I have been taking her to "doggie school" for socialization.
We are meeting Thurs..
This site has been a godsend to me, I had so much to learn with Powder being my first pit.
I'll let you know how it goes. I just had to let you know. She has been really good of course lately- no outbursts at all.

HI,
Thank you for all you well wishes. I will be sure to tell her about this site. It has helped me so much when I was in the dark. I'm sure she knows more about pitties than me, but it's nice to chat with others.
It was weird before I even got her email my 12 year old kept asking if we would have Powder at Christmas. I just pulled her as off petfinder and was going to post a new after Christmas. I told Sage, my son, that if we find a good home for her she has to go.
He knew from the beginning this was only temporary. Then we got the email from Jerelyn about Powder. It was like he had a feeling.
I'll let you know hos it goes.
I will also make sure we get her back if it doesn't work out.

Update. I just met with Powder's potential new owner. She's great and LOVES Powder (who couldn't). She took measurements so she could buy her a coat - her other pit was a red nose and I guess weighed 92 lbs., so a little big for Powder. Awww.
She will pick her up tomorrow after her doggie school session- she'll be nice a tired out too (hopefully). My son wanted one more night with her.
She will let us visit and send alot of pictures. It was almost too god to be true. I can't believe we finally found the perfect home for her. She will be soooo spoiled.

HI all, Well Jerelyn picked up Powder today after her session at doggie "boot camp". Sounds like she knows how to handle Powder's little outburts and is on to all her little tricks that she may try  ) since she had a pit before. I'll linger for a little bit yet and keep you posted on any updates or setbacks, but I really do think this will work out for her. Jeanine Poor Jerelyn, I sent pages and pages of stuff ALL about her. Including which side her food and water go on.... you never know.... she may like it only that way and not eat well otherwise ) Overbearing mommy here. |

Oh Jeanine this is bitter sweet. I will miss hearing about Powder but so happy for her. YAY. Hope Jerelyn joins the forum.

HI,
I called to see how her first night went. She ate her supper just fine but was a little restless at night. She met her relatives and went for 3 walks already. Tomorrow she will meet some new doggie friends on neutral ground.
Jerelyn said she really likes one of the neighbors and this lady is so happy because I guess for some reason all the other dogs on the street won't really go by her. Powder just loves everyone- especially if they give her belly rubs.
She said she hasn't done anything naughty yet but leaves her toys around as usual. She said she kept running back to the room where she left her toys to see if they are still there ;o).
Probably because when she was here, if a toy was left on the floor it was fair game no matter how many there were they always wanted what the other one had.
So , sounds good so far and she just loves her.
