This might be helpful to some, although a quick perusal of apts in my state showed most with breed restrictions. I'd like to add to this thread and include other resources for people who rent with Pit Bulls (as someone who rents and has Pit Bulls, and is getting ready to move in the next year, I certainly could use some help in this regard as well.) From - www.mikemahler.com/magazine/171.html"Support a great organization that is helping animals in need With the housing market hitting all time lows, and the rate of foreclosures rising steadily, many people have found themselves without homes and without the resources to find new places to live. Local animal shelters are seeing tremendous increases of owner turn ins, as many families don't have the resources to find new homes for themselves and their pets. We know how difficult it is these days to find a home that will accept pets. To help with this solution, Voice For The Animals has provided a list of websites to find apartments that allow families with pets.* Before relinquishing your pet or pets to the Animal Shelter, where most animals, if they are not adopted, will be euthanized, please consider these options listed below. * See - www.vftafoundation.org/apartments.htmIf you need further assistance, please call our hotline 310-392-5153 ext 1# or email us at info@vftafoundation .org. For more info on the Voice for animals foundation, go to: www.vftafoundation.org/ "

If there is anyone in the Iowa or Minnesota area looking to rent a house, duplex, or apartment PM me.
My boyfriend’s uncle rents to pet owners (as a Pit owner himself, Pits are MORE than welcome!).
Your animals HAVE to be fixed, current on all vaccinations, kept up to date on flea & tick preventative and a phone number for you animals vet HAS to be provided. There is NO smoking in any of his buildings.
He has very nice places for very reasonable prices.

thats nice of your uncle, but i could never live there as i titer my dogs instead of vaccinating them (they do get rabies shots though), maybe he could allow dogs that are titered as well? some dogs have adverse reactions to vaccines and cant have them, and other folks like me only vaccinate when the antibodies are low in a dogs body.. alot of dog owners are going the titer route (blood test drawn to see how much of the antibody the vaccine is in the dogs system)

You would probably just have to have some kind of proof that your dog isn’t sickly. I know he would work with any kind of issues like that. He just has standards so he doesnt have irresponcible owners with uncared for pets in his buildings.
He's pretty flexible... He just doesn’t want problems with disease, parasites and intact dogs (which is understandable!).

IF you live in the central Florida area there is one apt management down here that doesn't have breed/weight restriction McKinley. We are at Sail point Apts. in Sanford Florida and just found out the new management company has no restrictions on breed or weight.

We end up with so many Pitties in our shelter because a family is moving and simply cannot find a place that will accept their dog.
