Snowflake is a special girl, and RPB's current project. We're on a mission to help her find a home. How could anyone say no to this face? Check out her Petfinder page - www.petfinder.com/petdetail/14255097

She has been at Liberty since last June and her attitude has remained intact. She really is a super nice dog, one of those wiggle butts that fold in half when they have the opportunity to be touched by a person. Super duper Pit Bull temp on this girl. It's really sad too because one of the people who have worked the most with her tells me there is only ONE thing wrong with her.....she is very difficult to get out of the car when she's done with her field trips and needs to go back into the shelter.

her reluctance to go back to the shelter is normal, there is nothing wrong with that.. if thats her only fault i cant blame her for that thats for sure lol..

Snowflake is what I like to call "mushy". I see so many of those up, foward, 'hard' pushy Pit Bulls nowadays and when I run into a nice, deferential, soft true-tempered APBT it's such a joy.

She hasn't been extensively tested with other dogs, she has just been around them on leash. Probably best in an only-dog foster setting or with someone adept at handling multi - dog homes.

Yep understood she is not for me ): as a first foster. She looks super sweet and a good example for my healthy living program of a perfect dog for healthy living.

We are looking to bring Snowflake in as RPB's first official entrant into the foster/adopt program, btw.

Oh I did not realize you were doing such a program. Very cool. I will be talking in my pleasure of pets healthy living program about fostering. I do need to learn more about it. Not just pit bulls of course but any animal. correct me if I am wrong but I was thinking could be good for someone who likes the company of a dog but is not able to afford the vet care etc that comes with it. Let them know there are rescues out there that provide food and pet care. I am thinking some older people like my mom for example would be perfect for fostering. She is active and caring but is on a limited budget. But she would like the company of a dog.

Yup, most (ethical) rescues provide the vet care and other costly expenses. Other details get worked out on a case by case basis, but in general the rescue should be providing for at the least all vet care.

So tell me more about the RPB foster/adopt program and how can I help. We are working out all the details now, should have an official announcement soon. Basically we are taking in one or two dogs a year tops, placing them in foster homes so they can receive extensive evaluation, training, and earn a CGC, then place them into their forever homes. We would like foster families to be within a reasonable distance of Union County and fosters can attend Pit Bull School.

Bumping this because we are re-doubling efforts to get this girl into a home. She's been at the shelter almost a YEAR now.
She comes with free training, btw, to either a foster home (which is mandatory anyway, through KDI) or a forever home.
I'm going to try to spend some time at the shelter with her next week, and maybe get some new pix.
