I'm not surprised about Hangover 2. The moment I heard "I can't believe this is happening again" in the preview I lowered my expectations.

**Cabin Fever Spoilers!!**
So I was watching Cabin Fever with the bf yesterday because he had never seen it before (I have twice). Anywho, the bf is the type that loves to watch all the special extras on DVDs (me not so much). So in one of the special features extras they are talking about the German Shepard that goes all nuts and tries to kill people in the film and they mention that it hadn't been their first choice. Can we guess what the first choice was? Not that great at breed ID, but looked like either a pitbull or a fat SBT. Apparently Eli Roth (the director) had been told they could get a big blocky black pitbull/SBT to play Dr. Mambo who due to the disease eventually goes crazy and tries to kill the horny young teens (lol). They shot film for a whole day with the black pitbull (who was the stocky big bully looking kind). They got no useable footage. The dog was too friendly! There was a scene where one guy is supposed to try and hit the rampaging dog with a large stick and the dog is supposed to grab the stick and trash around with it. The black pitbull(?) grabbed the stick (his whole body wiggling from tail wagging) and the second the guy was supposed to pretend to get trashed around holding the stick the dog let dog and tried to lick his face! The dog was also older so the scenes where he is supposed to be chasing down the kids all you saw was a fat waddling dog wagging its tail pracing merrily along. They covered his snout with faux blood and gore for one scene (mostly just corn syrup with food coloring), and they covered the actors to make it look like the dog had attacked them and the dog would just wiggle up to them and lick the sticky syrup off their faces. They had a shot of theblack doggie covered in 'gore' and just looking so happy, lol.
They obviously had to recast the dog and they found a German Shepard that was so gun-ho about his rampaging scenes that the dog and the actors were never allowed on the set at the same time!
If you can rent Cabin Fever, this little part of the extras is just too funny!
From IMDB.com: "The original killer dog "Jake" was hired without a rehearsal and sight unseen because Eli Roth loved the idea of using the dog in the Patrick Swayze movie Black Dog (1998) and there by being only "two degrees from Swayze". The problem was the dog was by then 4 years older, arthritic, and tired. After a full day of shooting, and if all the few second bits were spliced expertly together, they only had about a minute or so of usage footage. All dog scenes had to be re-shot with a new dog. With no time or money to find a replacement, the producers cast a real police attack dog that was so vicious and unpredictable no actors could appear with it on camera. The crew would hide behind trucks during its scenes, and cameras were operated by remote control."

With no time or money to find a replacement, the producers cast a real police attack dog that was so vicious and unpredictable no actors could appear with it on camera.WTF? LOL Wow. Sounds like a great dog to have on a police force. Thanks for posting that, fun read (I liked Cabin Fever!) I been binging on movies lately. This is what I've watched the past 3 or 4 days (yes, cuz I'm lame and been home since Fri night): *Permanent Midnight (disappointed)
*The Station Agent (recommended!)
*Things to Do In Denver When You're Dead (recommended!)
*Poolhall Junkies
*Thursday
*Insidious (weird...started out ok, kinda lost me at the end...just got too dumb for me; Poltergeist ripoff)
*Hanna

I love the Station Agent, so quirky and cute.
But yeah, if you see the footage of the police dog it was scary as hell. There was a scene where it was supposed to run (in the movie it looks like its chasing someone, but in relaity it was chasing a guy with those arm protector things and supposed to clamp down and release). This dog runs the guy down, clamps on his arm cushion thingy and procedes to trashing the guys around while the trainer is yelling to call the dog off. Yeah, thats the kind of dog that should do police work, right? Too dangerous to be around the actors or most of the film crew!
The first dog was too cute covered in blood and wagging his tail, lol.

Yeah, I wanted to see it because I heard some of it was set in Finland, but then I heard it wasn't so great. I guess I'll wait till it comes out of DVD and Netflix it.

A movie is being made in my village as we speak. It is a Rob Riener film with Morgan Freeman. They were filming today. If it were not so hot would have walked through with Rocky. Maybe on Monday.

Splice was freaky and not in a good way; movie was overall kinda crummy but there is a scene towards the end that was just really gross to me (don't wanna spoil it for anyone. K you prolly know what I'm referring to...LOL)

Here's an oldie, "Crossroads." I saw it this morning at 4 am. I sometimes can't sleep. Not really worth watching until the end for the guitar duel between Steve Vai and himself, as played by Ralph Macchi's character. I mean, Vai played guitar on both sides. Except the slide guitar at the beginning of the duel, that's Ry Cooder. Macchio as a bluesman is TOTally not believable. :-[ ;D But the soundtrack is pretty darn good.

3 movies I watched this weekend:
1) I Spit On Your Grave (remake) - liked it better than the original. Fantastic revenge gore! ;D (Not for the faint of heart.)
2) Teenage Dirtbag. Such a touching, poetic movie.
3) Tucker & Dale vs. Evil - if you're a fan of horror movies like U Turn, Hills Have Eyes, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, or any movie where innocent kids stumble upon a group of backwoods, muderous hillbillies, you'll enjoy this. Totally funny and cute.

I saw Horrible Bosses last week. I thought it was hilarious, one of the best movies I've seen this year. It's a bit crude (which I usually don't like), but it was still really enjoyable! I was laughing the whole time! I highly recommend it!
In other news, there was a preview for "Final Destination 5." Seriously? The last movie in that series that came out was called "The Final Destination" which I took to mean "THE Final Movie in This Stupid Series." How many times can they have the EXACT same plot and only change the death scenes!?!? At least 5, apparently...

Is it weird that Hobo With a Shotgun made me want to cry in certain spots because of how tender it was? Then you have all the ultra-violence, lol
