So he is feeling A LOT better and probably is now about 90 pounds and a healthy weight. (maybe can gain a little more). He is such a lover! He loves everyone he meets, and adores the children that he lives with. He takes treats oh so gently. Just a big mush, and is doing amazing with his obedience... Small issue.. Now that he is feeling better, he seems to not like other animals at all! So he is working to tolerate things from a distance.... This dog is going to need an educated owner. Oh geez, I will say a prayer! But look how darn handsome he is! This dog is amazing! <3

Yeah.... I was trying to come up with the perfect word, noble or regal. He is the hadsomest dog ever... Wish his ears were not completely chopped off, but hey it gives him character! This is one of those times that I wish I had no other dogs

So Bronx's foster had some life changes, and brought him back to me Friday night. I had no where to put him but at my place of employment which happends to be a veterinary clinic. I am a certified vet nurse and have been for 11 years. I have a key and can come and go as I please. He is doing fine, getting a lot of walks and attention, and eating. playing, just being a big doof! He basically has his own room, away from other animals, in a quite place in the hospital. So he has been there for 4 days, and I was contacted by and bashed by another rescue, saying how cruel and inhumane this was, and that I should not have him at a vet where he is surrounded by sick animals, and he is stressed and scared, and he can smell fear?!?!!? I talked with them back and forth, hoping they would have a better solution or offer a foster, but that did not happen. Today I posted a picture of him, and this rescue took it and put it on their facebook, telling everyone to look how horrible he looks, saying that he is losing weight and doing horrible. His weight on Friday was 88 pounds, and tonight 88 pounds. In some of his past pictures he was getting a little chunky, he was on 6 cups of food a day to get the weight back on. Our vet suggested that we back off, since he was starting to really bulk up. He is on 4 cups of food a day now, with snacks, and on medications for his skin allergies. But anyway! I have never felt so hurt and back stabbed. Its like the world turned against me. I know I need some tougher skin, and I am working on this. A chat with Mary made me feel better, until the situation repeated itself again tonight. So my plea is for a foster/forever home for this handsome guy! He will need some work with other dogs, and he is not good with small animals of any time. He loves children, but is very strong, he will need a strong leader! If anyone has any ideas, please send them my way. You can e-mail me at SunraysPitBulls@aol.com. Even if for a short time, we would like Bronx out and a bout! (pair this with the stress of losing a friend, and some medical issues, I am about to go off the deep end!) (I miss you forum kids!

I wish I could help! On the topic of housing him at a vets office... In my area, when the sheriff or police pick up an at large dog, take an animal away from a bad owner etc... they take the animal to one of the two local vets office. They will take care of the animal and attempt to find the animal a home or its owner. If they can't they call us. And Judy gets 'suckered' into take in the animal. The vets office is safe. The people there are more than capable of caring for an animal. You guys know when an animal is stressed, sick, etc! Our vet office even offers boarding, and it is used all the time. It is not cruel, or inhumane. So don't let some one make you feel bad about where you have to house this animal until a place opens up for him. It's much better than him being on the streets, in a true shelter, or worse. You do what you have to do in order to keep the guy safe. That other shelter isn't worth the name rescue if they can't step up to actually help you.

screw that other rescue for what they did, you know people just have no clue at all. if they are that concerned for him they should get a foster home for him or shut the hell up. sorry you are going thru this, hang on and keep your head up, you know you are doing nothing wrong .

I am sorry for the hurtful things said to you. I agree with ME and Melonie. It is amazing how judgemental and cowardly people can be from behind a computer screen. I think your solution is great-- My daughter (the one with the pit pup) is also a vet tech. When the techs work 12+ shifts, they are invited to bring their pets to work. Her pup LOVES to go. They all play with each other dog's on break, and they get lots of love and attention. You know best what is a safe solution for Bronx. I know what it feels like to be judged by the clueless. I work with teens with severe emotional and educational issues and have also had to work on the "thick skin" thing! I think you are a hero for what you have done for this dog. Hang in there! I will pray for both you and Bronx that things will turn around.

I third this! If thats possible... anyway... You are awesome for giving Bronx such a great stable place, and he looks amazing. You have a good heart, and as a guardian of such incredible dogs- you should never let people like that get you down! Keep your head up!

Hey, unless they are willing to take him in they shouldn't be making you feel bad for trying. Since he has his own room, I'm sure he is more relaxed than if he was in a kennel/shelter surrounded by other dogs (his adrenaline would be on 24/7). You are doing the best with what you have, and from the very first pics I've seen of him and the new ones I can say without a doubt that he is 100x better! I have people on the street give me grief about how "I" cut Chubs' ears or how his skin allergies are my fault because obviously I'm not taking care of him and that I must not love him. I understand how painful it can be to have people basically tell you that you are a horrible person but you can let them get you down. You have to remember that you are doing great things and those idiots don't know the full story (and shame of them complaining what you are doing with Bronx and yet offer no real solutions of their own...they just want to b*tch or the sake of making themselves feel better). As the Brits say: Keep Calm and Carry On

Thank you everyone......
I am still working on a few things, nothing as of yet has come up. Last night after all the bashing this said rescue offered to take him into a home with three other dogs, where he would be crated and rotated. So how much different is that from staying at the vet office? Ugg!!!! Of course after you bash me up and down I am not going to calmly hand Bronx over to you..... I am hoping we can figure something out for him.....
PEOPLE!
I appreciate all the kind words! It makes me feel a whole lot better! <3
