So I won't be picking up Penny and Starz tomorrow.
A lady that runs a rescue/rehab in SD. contacted Carrie and wanted to take these two girls as her own personal dogs. So they
actually found a forever home, one that should be perfect for them!
Now I will be picking up two boys.
One is 5 months old and food/toy aggressive. (Blake)
The other, Giggles...I forgot how old he is. But he has NO teeth due to
him chewing on the chains that held him, or were removed. *they assume that is the reason*
Blake:
Giggles (He needs a new name!)
I'm anxious to meet these guys and get them settled into a new phase in their lives full of tlc!
This morning I checked email and found a help asap msg. in my inbox. It was about 27 pitbulls that were rescued north of Council Bluffs Iowa last April/May.
A rescue was searching for shelter/homes/fosters for the remaining dogs.
I guess I live under a freakin' rock because I hadn't heard about this. It is suspected that these dogs were used for breeding to supply pups for dog fighting.
All the dogs were in really bad shape. (effing ppl anyways)

Anyways, I msg'd the contact in the email and she called me back.
So far 16 of the 27 were put down. She has until the end of the week to place the remaining dogs or they too will be put down.
So Thurs. I'm going to Omaha to pick up Starz and Penny.
Both girls are shy and leary of ppl, starz more so than penny.
I'm hoping that the change of scenery, patience and kindness turns
these girls around.
I'll be talking to my boss about switching my work schedule around so that I can spend more time working with them, once or twice a week won't cut it!
Here are their mugshots:

I believe there are still 2 or 3 dogs needing help, so if you know anyone in the area make some calls!!
