Hello Everyone, The rescue that I volunteer with just took in a beautiful 3 year old pitbull. She is unable to walk at this time and we are just patietly waiting to see if her treatment will work so that she is a candidate for surgery. Please keep this beautiful girl in your thoughts. The latest update is that she showed a bit of improvement last night so the vet will monitor her through this long weekend then a decision must be made. Here is her full story: www.petfinder.com/petdetail/17307615Thanks so much for reading this! Rachel

Poor sweet girl. Taking on dogs with disabling injuries is challenging in so many ways, but so worth it. Sending good thoughts and please keep us updated on Martha.

Sad update: Martha had to be put to sleep the other day. The vet was watching for about a week and a half hoping for some signs of progress however she was unable to regain use of her back legs and was not responding to any medication or other measures. After about a week she bacame severely aggressive and the vet said that her quality of life would not be one he would put on any animal so after much debate they decided the best thing for her would be to humanely euthanize her.
Thank you to everyone who kept her in your thoughts and I hope now that she can finally rest in peace. Makes me so incredibly angry that people destroy these animals physically and emotionally and then leave someone else to make the tough decisions. I will never get used to that. Makes me sick.

So sorry to hear that she had to be put down, but at least she now can run free at the Bridge. Yeah, I hate people that make the messes and make others do the clean up. It isn't fair, but I know karma will one day get them back.

Such a sad decision to have to make, but it sounds like it was probably best for poor Martha.
