Hello everyone the Humane society in Alpine, Tx has two pit bulls in need of placement. One of them is a solid black male named Smokey that is less than two years old and is very friendly both with people and other dogs, they are calling him a lab mix so as to not label him a pit bull. The other is a red male named Mongo who is about two years old. Mongo is very friendly and well mannered and friendly with people, not too sure about with other dogs as he is housed in a separate kennel. If you are interested please call 432-837-3486.

An update on the dogs in Alpine. Someone might be interested in Mongo but Smokey's situation just got a bit more serious. The pound only has a max capacity of twenty dogs and they just received six more yesterday taking them up to approximately eighteen dogs. In the four months that Smokey has been at the shelter not a single person has shown interest in adopting or fostering him so he is going to be one of the very first that they euthanize.

Okay within the next week the shelter is going to have to start euthanizing. They are over capacity and once it starts getting cold at night all the dogs have to have an indoor kennel, they currently have 5 pit bull type dogs that will be the first to go, so if you know anyone in this area that could foster or adopt them their time is just about out.
