So I got a text today from a lady who works with the adoption team at No More Homeless Pets in Utah (the rescue I'm fostering Tiki for). She told me where this weekends adoption event would be held and asked if Tiki would be there or if we should be discussing adoption plans instead.... Then she proceeded to say that she see's the way Tiki is with us/us with her and that she can see she's very happy here. She's also heard tons of stories, has pictures and vidoes of Tiki's stay with us.
Now I know Tiki is happy here, she fits in great, has been a fantastic role model for Bruiser who didn't have any doggy manners before she got here and now knows when to stop playing, when to start, how to greet dogs and more! She loves my fiance more than anything in the world and is an all around even tempered dog (even with our issues in the beginning lol). I know at this point nothing will change after adoption since she's been here since November so no surprises there, it would just be official.
I'm thinking of adopting her but I can't help but think that if we hold out a little while longer than that "perfect" family will come walking through the door. Although I have yet to meet a family that felt like a decent fit, they had cats (high prey drive), they had small kids (likes to lick too much) or they just weren't "right".
I know we could have some possible issues later on when Aida and Bruiser mature that could put us on crate/rotate but that's no big deal, I could handle that. But are there any other major problems you guys see? I mean she gets along great with both my pups plus she's an adult so she won't change much...
I guess I just need some insight from third party individuals that know the situation but aren't actually involved with Tiki (if that makes any sense lol).
