I'm sitting on the floor next to the crate with the door wide open and Sedona is laying in the varikennel peering out at me. I've attached a two-door wire crate to the varikennel to double the size of her space. She won't come out when I'm near, but I can leave the room and she sneaks out for a look-around. As soon as I come back, she runs for the crate. This is going to be tough, but I have patience. The dogs enter the room and Sedona becomes animated, excited and even happy. She's very comforted when they're nearby. She cowers from me. She almost acts feral. Life on a chain... Now that my dogs are in the room, Sedona lies in the wire crate in full view. She's even looking at me. I can't imagine her life not being around another dog. She ate dinner, but afterward she curled up in the varikennel out of reach. I had to detach the wire crate, hook her up and actually drag her out into the living room. She got her legs working and followed me out the door. Once she saw the dogs on the other side of the fence she got happy feet. Done with her business she dragged me back inside and back to the crate. She sure does love it. Epic Fail on the pictures and videos of the introductions. I shot a video of the chaos but somehow lost it. We were having too much fun to take pics. I do have some pics of Sedona in her crate since, well let's face it that's where she is. One more thing, if you get the chance to meet Mary and Michele in person, do it. Two really great people. Thanks you two! New crate Too Scared Too Move Getting comfy with a nylabone "stop looking at me!" After dinner

Awesome idea to put two crates together. Would have never thought of that. I suppose it is a blessing she likes her crate, otherwise where would she find a safe zone. I look forward to seeing photos of her opening up and becoming a real dog. Congratulations Dave!

Give her a day or two to learn the new smells and sounds. She will be hanging out with everyone. Sedona is beautiful.

So far, so good. It's funny, but when the dogs are in the room, Sedona interacts with me much more. She smiles at me, makes more noise, and gravitates towards me. If they leave, she hides from me. I'm so tempted to let her out after things calm down when Rocky and Lola are in the room so she can mingle, but it's far too soon.
Sedona was a little bolder after breakfast this morning, and did some exploring. When my dogs are out of the room, the crate is open.
Mary, this little dog is the strongest puller I've ever had!

She's so cute, I love how she sniffs your shoes and decides, "That's enough exploring for one day!"

dave, i gave mary a weight pull harness that will fit her, you might be able to do weight pull training with her if she takes to the harness. when i had her she pulled like a freight train and i figured she would be good at weight pull training if given the chance..

Congrats on the "new addition"! She'll certainly warm up to you in time. My new foster is afraid of men (and almost everything new) but we're working on it together. Good luck!

Thanks, ME. I've been thinking about that. But she has to want to be outside first. My living room isn't that big!! LOL! Okay, so I caved already... It's been an interesting morning. I left the room with the crate open, and Sedona really opened up. She hopped up on the sofa, so I sat down next to her. It was very close to moment. I even got a little kiss. She's coming around.

she loves the couch Dave, she spent all her time either on the couch here or playing with rufus.. she looks like she is warming up already... wait till you let her sleep with you then she will warm up to you faster lol....
dave if your back yard is fenced in you can start there with training if she gets ok with the back yard.. this way you can just work her in the yard , its good exercise and even if she doesnt want to be out in public you can use the weight pull as exercise for her in the yard (and in the winter maybe have her gather wood lol in the back yard that falls from the trees lol)

Okay, are you tired of me yet? Guess what I've been doing most of the weekend.
Sedona gets downright GIDDY when Rocky and Lola come in the room.
