I have off from work this week, and with the weather being sucky, I decided to torture Sedona today. I loaded her up in the car, drove down to Petsmart, and we went shopping.
I figured that during the day it would be quiet there, but I was a little surprised the store had quite a few shoppers. I didn't really have a problem getting her inside, and she followed me very nicely as we walked around the store. First stop was a look at the Kong halters, I wanted to look at them as a halter to use on the treadmill as it has a broad chestpiece. We turned down the leash aisle and saw no one else there. Waht luck!
I was exchanging Sedona's halter for the Kong when a woman came up and started to ask about her. We talked a little while I tried the halter on CC, then we were ACCOSTED BY IDIOTS.
Two women approached, their dogs on extended retractable leashes. One had a 5 month old Yorkie, the other a perpetual motion white fluffy thing. I had Sedona tangled up in her own hardware, and shit just started going badly.
"Does she bite?" as she extend her hand to Sedona's mouth, the Yorkie one asks, her puppy all in Sedona's space. White fluffy thing mom asks, "Is she fixed, because I know someone who wants to breed his male."
I didn't try to be polite. "Why would I bring her here if she bites?" says I, and to the other, "Take a trip to the local shelter, and see how many pit bulls need homes, and you want to make more?"
They left the area, apparently unaffected.
We took the new halter, picked up some treats, and headed to the car. Through the entire episode, Sedona shined.
Thanks, Mary.
