Has finally found his forever home! I have to go out and do the home check and talk to the kids though. We really wanted him to go to a home with a yard, so we waived the adoption fee if they put up a fence. I still have to go out and check it after it's done. I'm going to talk to the kids (4 of them) how to behave around animals and show them how to teach Oliver new tricks. Oliver has proven to be very good with kids, and this gang fell in love with him. So officially we have no pit bulls up for adoption. We do however have 2 courtesy listings. Judy is going to keep Zeke and Diesel as her own dogs.. She's "down" to 3 personal dogs, having had to put her lab to sleep after a very long life and cancer, and a couple months ago Jazzi passed away from old age as well. The funny thing about all the adoptions lately... We had decided to adopt 2 of the dogs w/out an adoption fee if the home was a good fit. My wheels started turning and decided that an adoption event would be a great way to get these guys homes, and right now the city police force is taking donations to get a police dog. I was going to contact the main officer involved with the fundraising and discuss an adoption fund raising event. We would still request the usual adoption fee, but donate to the k-9 cop fund. That was when we had 8 dogs needing a home. With 4 it doesn't seem as great an idea. Judy is still going to donate to the fund, but by the time we could get an event arranged we may not have any dogs to adopt out! It's been a roller coaster spring!
