My husband called to tell me that Patrick was on the cover of the Ledger today he briefly summarized the article for me. I got off the phone with him and immediately Oreo popped into my head.

Poor guy, think they're expecting too much of him. The main priority should be getting him fostered and into a permanent home. Asking him to be a social butterfly or around young kids is maybe more than he's ready for at this point.
Place him in a peaceful home with an experienced adult and he'll probably blossom, he's been through so much-get him out of the spotlight...

No, I haven't heard anything yet. Don't have any AHS contacts so I'm just getting info online like everyone else. Hope this doesn't turn into another Oreo situation. Sigh. in what way? There's no evidence that Patrick is irredeemably human-aggressive as Oreo was; that eval. sounds like he's a normal dog with the issues you'd expect from one that's been abused, untrained and unsocialized www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2056516341858.124385.1513084512If you mean in the sense of organizations that have nothing to do with him raising money using his image/fame, etc... well that's happening already. Both AHS and GSVS have raised a TON of money... and so for that matter has the city of Newark. In that regard, no one's hands are clean |

the woman who wants to adopt him is the hospital owners wife.
i wonder who did the evaluation on patrick? was it jeff coltenbeck? or someone else?
as far as being dog social, helllooo there is no need meet dogs, he just needs to be taught to ignore dogs out in public.. as far as the snapping, who is stupid enough to bring a dog that was that sick around a child especially since its probable the @sshole who owned him never socialized him?
why cant they just tend to his medical issues, get him healthy again, and then start with baby steps to see how socialized he was when he was with his idiot owner???

Jeff has worked with Patrick, but I don't think he did the initial eval. Patrick looks amazing, fwiw!
Poor pup just needs a chance with someone who has more than 2 braincells to rub together!

The accused looks like a real winner too...gawd, deliver us...so stupid...if he hadn't survived custody wouldn't be an issue. Can't they just be happy using his image and name and get the poor guy situated permanently?
