Sedona made a minor breakthrough last evening. She was having a good day, not too much hiding, and she was enjoying some me-time. Showing a little boredome, I grabbed a pullable fleece toy and tied a string on it. I tried to get her to play with it (her only self-gratifying activity is gnawing a bone, she doesn't know what toys are I guess) by tossing and pulling it back, trying to elicit some type of play response. I also tried to get her excited about it. She never did really get interested in the toy, but she got happy feet and started trying to play with me! She did this by swirling in circles very fast (zoomies in place ), then taking off at me, at the sofa and back to me, into and out of the crate and back to me, at the baby gate (and the other two dogs), back to the sofa, back to me, and so one for about ten minutes. And as all things come to an end, I did something (?) to spook her a little and the game was over. Into her crate to safety. But she played! And later, just to balance things out, I took her out for her nightly torture walk. ;D

You are doing such a great job with her! Seems like she's come a long way.

She's trying. It's a little more like two steps forward one stepback. I get frustrated, she gets upset... Her new fear response is peeing when I touch her when she knows she's going outdoors.

Awwwww zoomies!!!!!!!!!! It took her months to finally have a 'pit fit' with me. I'm so happy she is learning to enjoy herself and have some fun.

Awwww, yay for CC! She sounds a bit like my neighbor's dog and Murphy's girlfriend. She hates the outside, if I take her out to potty, she goes right out, pees and runs back for the house. She gets esp panic-y if you take her more than a block or two away from home.

Yeah, I coined that term when I first got Krash - I had never seen a dog act like that before, I thought he had lost his damn mind! LOL

The first time I experienced it was with Jackson doing laps around the kitchen and living room with his butt skimming the ground, eyes and mouth WIDE open. OMFG I laughed so hard I cried.

Until Jess, I had never seen a dog run with their @ss so close to the ground it looked like it was touching! Sean and I were obsessed with getting her to do it because it looked so funny/cute!

Krash would do it on cue, "Pit fit! Pit fit!!" So funny. Man I miss that dog.

Weird dogs, weirder owner = my dags and I. Sometimes I wonder if my weird rubs off on them, or vice versa. ;D

Weird example: even though I only have one dog right now, I still refer to "my dogs" like I have several. DOH. I'm still not used to being without a foster or two personal dogs.
