www.heraldonline.com/2011/06/17/3155685/rescue-ink-foundation-officially.htmlNEW YORK, June 17, 2011 -- /PRNewswire/ -- The Rescue Ink Foundation Board of Directors announced today that the foundation has been officially closed and dissolved. The certificate of dissolution was filed with the State of Delaware on June 13, 2011 and accepted by the Secretary of State. According to the Board of Directors, "The Rescue Ink Foundation is no longer accepting donations and all activities have ceased. Rights to the animals Rebel, Vesper, Lucky, Joe Thunder, Scrappy, Kate & Willie have been assigned to the care of Eric Bellows of Pack Ethic Rescue (http://www.packethic.com/). The board is confident that Eric Bellows and the team at Pack Ethic Rescue will care for and rehabilitate these animals in a compassionate manner." Rescue Ink was formed to aid in battling animal abuse and neglect and to assist existing animal welfare agencies and shelters. Donations were used to fund animal rescue and animal abuse education. SOURCE Rescue Ink Foundation --------------------------- I've never seen the show, and only know about the organization by snippets online. Don't know if it's good or bad, but their 15 minutes is apparently over.

I hated the show and hated them... using their size/tatoos to intimidate people

Met them in person at RPB pitbulpalooza, they were not intimidating at all. I think that was all staged for a show. Cant say if they were a good rescue or not, but I liked the idea behind their reason for rescue. Heard about them long before the TV show. The show may have actually ruined their group.

I didn't even know they had a show but the book about them was interesting. Suppose intimidating would come in handy depending on the rescue situation, just sayin'

I found the intimidation stuff EXTREMELY unprofessional, and honestly how was what they were doing as depicted on the show even legal?

I found the intimidation stuff EXTREMELY unprofessional, and honestly how was what they were doing as depicted on the show even legal? Exactly, which is why I believe it was mostly scripted. I think they may have gotten involved with abuse rescue, but I think it was like reenacted. As most of the reality shows are. Some is caught on camera and some is done over again and again.

Well also having sat next to them the whole day at our event I found most of them to be very nice....esp. G and Batso... others were not as enthusiastic to be there. Interesting that G and Batso were also two of the originals that left. Yes I am sure that a lot of it was scripted. Also, I don't mind the intimidation stuff when it is warranted! ;D

saw this on facebook....Rescue Ink did close but rather their foundation dissolved and they apparently reorganized. They are going to be opening a new facility staffed by volunteers. They are however no longer working or affiliated with Eric Bellows of Pack Ethic.

New website... www.rescueink-redemption.com/Apparently they are going into the animal control bidness... "The Long Beach Animal Shelter will open its doors again after the facility was closed five years ago. The City Council on Tuesday voted to approve a one-year contract with the animal rescue-adoption organization, Rescue Ink Inc., to operate the former animal shelter on a $15,000 budget starting July 1. This pilot program comes with an option to renew for a second year. City Manager Charles Theofan said the city is mandated to have shelter services, whether or not it contracts with another municipality. Long Beach was previously paying $47,000 annually for its animal-related services to Freeport Animal Shelter, a facility that has closed. Theofan noted that the $15,000 is for Rescue Ink Inc. to care for the animals that will be housed at the animal shelter, located in the North Park section of the city, but otherwise the organization will maintain the facility and pay for the utilities and other expenses. Veterinary services may, in part, be provided through vets that have previously volunteered their work to Rescue Ink. Theofan said the city decided on Rescue Ink Inc. because of “how seriously they take the concept of pet adoption,” that it affiliates with animal psychologists and experts in animal behavior, and is a high-profile organization that has been featured on the National Geographic Channel. When asked about whether the shelter would adopt a non-kill policy, the city manager said that it would resort to such practices only as "a last possibility," and only if the animal is deemed too dangerous."

you can't run a municipal shelter on $15k/year unless it's staffed by volunteers. And the utilities are donated...

^ no way, but it sounds like they will still be an independent organization pulling in their own donation money, but contracted by the city which will provide $15,000/yr for AC services. That is how I am interpreting it.

Agreed. I heard about them before the show began and at that time, their mission seemed pretty cool. Met them in person at RPB pitbulpalooza, they were not intimidating at all.
