btw, they did operate and removed a giant hair ball from his stomach.. possibly a hair extension he ate trying to stave off starvation. The latest pics look great, though he still hasn't recovered from the very nasty case of mange

Something else to consider, they talk about the incredible number of requests to adopt Patrick just because...How many of those same people wouldn't look at him twice if they passed by him in an open shelter situation? How many other people who feel such sadness for a poor neglected dog in theory don't want an actual "pit type" in their neighborhood? But they'll send money from a distance to help what Patrick represents...makes ya sad, makes ya angry. I honestly didn't know the bias against pitties until I got Ophie-except maybe one time when a man and little girl had the cutest little boxhead puppy in front of a supermarket, smiling and a pink collar...and I sat down to give this dolly some lovin'...the man said "You're the first person who stopped to pet her" People walk their goldens and wackapoos all around here and people stop to at least give a head scratch. Ophie walks along smiling and happy and people glance at her, maybe pull their kids away, maybe switch to the other side of the street... I dunno maybe it's the heat-thanks for letting me share
