My friend with the landlord issue is giving away her puppy on craigslist. I guess I'm a sucker because I told her I will help her find a place for him. I emailed one rescue group near her and am waiting to hear back. Does anyone here know of a good group around Lexington, KY?
I found her craigslist ad:
I have a full blooded pit bull puppy I need to rehome. He is around 3 months old and does have papers. I can send pics through text at XXX-XXX-XXXX. NO EMAILS PLEASE!!!! Text or call ONLY! There is a rehoming fee.
Here is a response that she forwarded to me asking if I thought it sounded good:
hi ive seen your add if you cant find a home for him today and you could meet me a lil closer i will take him i take in pit bulls and he will have a forever home here this will be his permanent home ill take him if you want to give him to a great home you can always check out my website yankeerescue.com thank you
I told her it sounded a bit sketchy and she agreed (thank Dog!!)
I'm a bit scattered right now, which you can probably tell by this ridiculous post, but I don't want her little boy to end up in a shelter or in the wrong hands. I know it makes me a sucker, but I want to help this puppy. Suggestions?

First, you're not a sucker, you just have a mushy heart like we all do on this forum  Second, something seems weird about that rescue. It's a farm animal rescue according to the site, but at the bottom there is some text that says, "WE ARE NOW TAKING IN PITBULLS THAT NEED RESCUING ..." Maybe they mean well, but my guess is they are ummm not a place I'd personally want a dog sent to. What rescue scopes out puppy ads on CL and offers to take in owner-surrenders? No reputable ones I know of. Good luck helping your friend out, Cat, lucky for the pup you're around to help to steer him into the right hands. (I'm assuming this isn't an option but.....what about returning the pup to the breed/person she got the pup from?) |

What about Jody Preiss with Bless the Bullys? She's out Tennessee(Cookeville I think) which is obviously not Kentucky, but maybe she would know of some reputable rescues since their in the same geographical area? Just a thought.

Thanks for the suggestion! I sent a message to Bless the Bullys.
Mary, I think the breeder was probably a BYB he told her that the puppies were "half APBT and half Razours Edge." I'll suggest she calls the breeder, though.

If you want, I can contact a friend of mine out in Ky. I know he had been thinking about getting a pit bull, but not sure if he has one yet. I lived near Lexington for 2 years. Pretty area, but... well.  If nothing else send him to me, he's adorable! |

damn wish i was in here more often,,,my daughter woulda loved to get her,,,looks so much like zena,,,,p.s. my daughter is lookin for a rescue,,,pup preferred,,and white and female,,,i know ,,i know but it is what shes lookin for
