Let's just call it a Real Pit Bull Forum collaboratively developed trademarked term. I like it Suzi....then no one person has to carry the burden

Never liked the term "pittie." It's a pinker term IMHO. That first URL... What a joke.

Ok guys, work with me here for a moment.........would you stand behind this term/definition? What would you reword/change/add? ”Pinker” is a term that originated on The Real Pit Bull Forum spontaneously in response to new material coming out about Pit Bulls. The "pink-ing" of the Pit Bull is a trend that tends to “dumb down" Pit Bulls for mass consumption. Pinkers tend to want to “pretty up” the dogs (i.e. verbally dress them up all pink and glittery), talk about how “it’s all how you raise them”, and insist that dogs of unknown heritage (i.e. shelter and rescue dogs) can NEVER be properly identified and therefore it is impossible to even attempt to assign breed traits or educate adopters on potential behavioral traits in Pit Bulls (basically invalidating the notion of purebred rescue work completely). Pinkers often have a misunderstanding about what a Pit Bull (American Pit Bull Terrier) actually is, a lack of knowledge on proper breed temperament, label even KNOWN purebreds of various breeds or obvious mixed breeds “pit bulls” (a lead they’ve taken from BSL supporters – i.e. legislators that know nothing about dogs or breeds, let alone Pit Bulls), and spread misinformation about Pit Bull history." I wouldn't change a thing.

Thank you for defining it.... I got the general idea of what PINKER might mean based on the context when I first saw the term, but it's nice to have a firm definition.
Also by publishing/trademarking the definition you bring awareness to the fact that "pinking" does not help the breed or its advocates. I think that a lot of people who say things like "it's all how you raise them" have basically good intentions of positive promotion or acceptance for pit bulls and don't realize there may be negative underlying implications. People tell me that all the time when they meet Nicci: you must be raising her so well! It's all how you raise them.

Oh yeah, Dave is to blame!!!
Ok so that's settled.
And guys, please don't take this term TOO seriously, it's sort of become a meme on this forum, and is almost an inside joke. But it's used enough here that people have latched onto it and have questions about it, so that's why I wanted to define it.
Don't think you can't like pink (I love pink), glittery stuff, dogs dressed up in cute outfits, or call your dog nicknames with "pink" in them. ;D

I've never liked the color pink for myself, but it's a very flattering color on Dharma and Brandy, so I've bought them a lot of pink stuff. I don't think that there is necessarily anything wrong with being fluffy and cute with our dogs, as long as we don't extend that to incorrectly anthropomorphizing them in the context of understanding/evaluating the breed, temperament, etc. After all, Dharma is commonly known as Pretty Princess Oinks.

I like boy dogs, but I love purple and pink and I hate sometimes that I can't buy pretty things for Luca (I will subject him to purple to a degree but not pink...) Sometimes I think I should get a female just to satisfy a need to buy pretty, flashy collars and cute girly dog clothes.

I'll add that calling the nickname 'Pittie' a pinker term is a little over the top. It's never been a favorite of mine, but that's just me. So no offense to anyone here on that note. I call mine Bulldogs. Also, Poca sported a pink collar until she ate it.
