I was walking to the car last night, and heard a bark - it sounded so much like Krash. It felt really weird to me, to hear that bark. Suddenly I was missing my Krasher very much. Luca fell off the couch last night. Well, more like rolled off the couch in slow motion. I was sitting next to him, on the phone, and didn't catch him in time. I don't think he got hurt, he acted more stunned and then embarassed than anything. Gave me a scare though, and then a laugh.

Every time I hear a skateboard I think of Benny and how he would have hated it. It's tough remembering sometimes.

I know how you feel Mary. Twice I've seen a dog that looked exactly like my last dog Bunny (white shep/yellow lab mix). Once was about three weeks after she was put down due to an aggressive cancer. The second time was about a year later. Both dogs were with homeless guys. Both times I gave the guy $20 or $30 bucks, walked a few feet and began to cry hysterically.
Both times I felt deep grief because I missed her so much (still do), but also felt very angry that these people had their dogs who were still alive and me who could provide the world to my dog didn't. That was always followed by feeling like crap for wondering things like that. It was all very confusing and exhausting.

OMG I would die if I saw a dog that looked like Krash. It's never happened, though. There IS a dog in my neighborhood that looks EXACTLY like my grandparents' dog who passed, Becky. It is really freaky because Becky wasn't exactly common looking - she had two blue eyes, was black & tan-pointed with a lot of white, and had these silly ears that pointed out to the side (we used to call them helicopter ears). The first time I saw this dog in the neighborhood it was kinda a mindf*ck.

I bet Luca quietly giggled to himself like really old people do when they realize they just did something silly that was supposed to hurt their pride, but you know "F*ck it, I'm old!" lol

He was probably thinking along the that someone pushed him off. He's too dignified to actually fall. At least that's what I think when one of my animals falls off the bed/sofa.

Saxon falls off the couch every once in a while and he always looks so confused. He looks up at me as if to ask, "What just happened?"

That was always followed by feeling like crap for wondering things like that. It was all very confusing and exhausting. Ya know, I was having a discussion about euthanasia with a coworker yesterday. I euth'd Krash due to hemangiosarcoma. I still wonder if I rushed it and I still randomly feel really guilty, like I failed him somehow. I think when we love our dogs so much, and they get taken from us too soon, or we have to make decisions about when and how they pass, there is always going to be confusion and other uncomfortable emotions.
