Rocky Rocked the Preparing for a four legged friend program yesterday. He stayed with me for 3 hours. I intended to have my son take him home so he would not get stressed or distract the audience but after a little Rocky whine pay attention to me...he calmed down and just laid down and listened to me talk. In his relax with head down during the Pit Bull myths and the breed is not for everyone talk. Was perfect gave me the opportunity to say you dont get this with out work, and positive training. He also put on tricks. People were amazed at his intelligence which I also noted a pit bull trait. I did not have the turn out I would have liked also no one there was even considering a getting a pet. Some had cats about 4 owned dogs one of those had buried her dog that morning (good friend of mine). That made me very emotional during one of the videos that I had to recover as did my friend. Could you believe one of the audience members asked if I had season allergies. People were most interested in the Pit Bull Myths and reality and history. Especially since I told them it was national pit bull awareness day. The library director said she was impressed at how comfortable I am getting and loves my awesome power points with embedded videos. The audience members all said although they have owned cats and dogs they each learned something new. They all thought the pit bull myths were absolutely ridiculous. . Unfortunately I forgot to have someone take photos while Rocky was doing tricks etc or photos with the people who attended. They ranged in age of 12 to 75 Here is Rocky and I after the program

Oh yeah also my son collected some home made items including two dog beds from a community member who makes blankets and crate pads etc. I brought them with me. I really wanted to auction the bed off but it is complicated. Well someone bought the bed for 25.00 the purchaser made the price. I was only going to ask 10. but she knew all the money will be donated to the RPB Karma dog program. I have bandanas, blankets, crate pads, knitted blankets and another bed. Anyone have any ideas how I could promote selling them or whatever for a fundraiser for my cause. The girl who makes them is thrilled to be helping and the more she does and the more thank you cards I send out on our behalf the more fabric gets donated to her to make more.

true Story- fell asleep on couch last night I was exhausted. Woke up from dream at 4am. The dream was a black pit bull tied on a heavy chain to a car in a parking lot. When I tried to help him he barked aggressively and lunged at me, I felt his teeth hit my hand. Then I saw the owner arrive I began yelling at him about how irresponsible he is and how that short chain is making his dog aggressive. with the dogs teeth hitting on my hand again I woke up. I was like wow my mind is still in the pit bull awareness program. I got up and went to bed and heard that dog barking. One of my ass wipe neighbors left their dog out and it was barking very aggressively like it was being threatened. With all the bear activity we have been having I was afraid to go out and look in the dark. I hear that again I am calling the police. who probably will do nothing. I am not sure which neighbor it was but i have an idea.

I am so pleased with the results. I am really pleased that Rocky was able to stay with me through the program and that he remained relaxed for the most part. I would really like to do more therapy through education of dogs and the breed. But would go better with less worries if I had a partner with me in case Rocky needed to leave.
