Saturday I was supposed to do a home check - meet & greet for Lilly in a town 75 miles away. Since she is sick I cancelled because the family has other animals, and I didn't feel like going out of town. (lazy)
Another couple here in town had inquired about adopting Zeke, but Judy was on the fence about letting him go. (same with Ollie)
I agreed to meet them, etc. It turns out they are friends of my ex's oldest son, and I have seen them in the store I work in. They were available today, but I couldn't' get a hold of Judy, so I didn't go pick up Zeke. I thought about it for awhile, and decided to call them back and asked them if they would like to meet Lilly.
So I went over to their house with Lilly.
Lilly, the fickle little wench, made herself right at home. She would not leave Jessie alone. She jumped right up in his lap and licked him to death.
We talked about all of Lilly's warts, and all the fun thing about her.
They don't have any kids, and aren't planning on any for a few years. No other animals except for a rabbit. Which Lilly met and decided it needed a bath. Huge, and I mean huge freakin' fenced yard. The girls mom used to raise pit bulls, so she grew up with them. The guy used to have one, but his ex got the dog in the split.
So they want Lilly, and I'm going to let them adopt her. She's going to spend the week with them, and if it works out they'll keep her. If not she'll come home. I'm not going to let her go to Norfolk with the other family either way. I don't want her to go out of town.
I'm going to drop her off tomorrow morning, and go from there.
