I mostly keep my mouth shut when it comes to rescues in terms of who to promote/support and who not to, but many people push SPBR without knowing the long history of documented BS on this rescue or don't realize they are on MANY DNA lists. lol i see he is at it again. he makes a ton of money,and since he is a lawyer he gets around the law and has contacts everywhere, so no suprise inspections can be done as he finds out about them beforehand so that he can get rid of any dogs he has on his premises. its sad, very sad. i had firsthand experience with him when he first started his rescue he tried to pull some dogs under our rescue and he wasnt even a volunteer ....

There is some big long article on Stubby Dog that mentions he's placed 3000 Pit Bulls. (It presents SPBR in a positive light, unfortunately......)

i think he has placed that many. he is more of a puppy miller rescue then anything unfortunately.

Why does he do it. Supposed rescue. Believe it or not SPB is the forum that started it all for me thinking of adopting I was looking for a puppy and SPBR had lots of puppies, I think I found them on petfinder I did consider an application for one BTW for those who dont know I was not looking for a Pit Bull just looking for a puppy. After I found and adopted Rocky I needed to research the breed and I remembered there being materials on their website. That is when I joined the forum. It is where I met Maryellen, it is where I got alot of help from many people including the Guy who ran the rescue, slowly people disappeared. I never understood the kool aid thing until members started questioning me and my involvement and why I was so concerned about one of the dogs stories. Like I was a spy or something. I think at that time I was also a member of another forum. I did not like it and basically left the forum life for almost 2 years. I had better things to do. My son was in a bad car accident that it was amazing they walked away. Life changing experience. I got back into the forums after thinking about adopting another dog. And then I joined RPB. I was not aware of what was going on at SPBR. I still am not sure. I did not even know that SPBR was still in business.

34 dogs on his PF page, almost all of them are puppies. See this is why I don't like Stubby Dog, they don't look into anything they promote/advertise on that site. SPBR is just blatant and there is no reason a "pro Pit Bull" site should make the mistake of plastering stuff about them all over it.
As for why he does it? For $$$ and he seems to like the attention he gets....ahem.

He has nice pix and a cute site. His forum is HUGE (although from what I hear, he bans people like crazy). But the way he does things is deplorable. Last year SPBR took an intact male Pit Bull to a pet expo, there was a scuffle with another dog. The Pit Bull was not only intact, he didn't have vaccinations so animal control took him. SPBR let the dog die in AC. This is fully documented online. |

All they see is the great website. And on the forum you have no idea although that was almost 6 years ago that I was on that forum, but then I thought it was full of pit bull gods who knew everything and were online all the time passionate about their dogs. I was fooled too. I had no idea until some time later. |

But at same time I do have to thank that forum and its members who were a big part of me not almost backing out of the decision to adopt this dog that has changed my life. I will be positive and give them that. I bet most of them on the forum were great people. I doubt any of them are there anymore. Is anyone on here a former member? That is willing to admit it? |

I think I joined a while back but never posted/read (because I'm nosy and wanted to see what the drama was all about). I do know that many people end up bailing or just getting banned. And the people on the forum don't = Eric Gray. He's the one that runs the show (sham).

Im afraid to go look as I was once a member and I know they keep track of IEP numbers thats why they thought I was a spy. They knew when I was lurking. OH but wait that computer is long gone. I might have to snoop one day when I have the time too. Just curious if anyone is still there. I am only on this forum now. I dont have the energy for all the crap on some of the others. |
