What a dipsh!t owner...
If my dog ever did that, I'd be offering to pay medical bills even for just a check up and some antibiotics. I always have Cephalexin 500mg on hand to give my dogs after any bite. Bites get infected sooo easily!
So glad he's OK. It could have been much worse! I hope AC nails that moron!

Anyone who takes a toy possessive, aggressive dog off leash in a public area and then throws that toy near other dogs is a certifiable idiot. This was bad and could have been worse. If it had been my Pablo at the park, especially in his prime, it would have been Armageddon. Of course, that's why I never took Pablo to parks and even stopped walking in the neighborhood, since too many idjits think that it's perfectly fine to leave their dog loose in their unfenced front yard.

If I'd had Cleveland in that situation, it wouldn't have been good. He loves, loves, loves balls. He will also not back down when challenged like that.
Glad Saxon is doing alright. Poor guy just needed some extra comfort from mom & dad last night!

I don't mind having a dog-aggressive dog but our outdoor activities have been limited by stupid people with unleashed dogs. It sucks

After Rocky plays with Aura and has those same facial and neck marks, they take a week or two to disappear. He does however have a couple of small scars from her.

That's good to hear, CA. I think Rocky and Saxon have the same kind of sensitive skin. The markings already faded significantly since yesterday.

YEah look at this photo focus on the center of neck, those marks are from the smaller Aussie in the photo. That is my dads dog Sheba. She was a pup at the time and bit the crap out of him. Aura does much worse. I was quite concerned about it first times but it only leaves temporary scabs. However I want her to stop biting him. He just does not do anything about it.

It sucks Yeah, when I realized that there was no path I could take along the streets near Bed Bug Acres w/o the high probability of running into some unleashed and usually unsupervised dog or other, I just gave up. I don't have a whole lot of time for long walks anyway and the dogs have a lot of land to romp on. But it was really disappointing all the same.

Poor Saxon! So glad to hear he is feeling better.
We actually had somthing similar happen with our lab-retreiver mix. We had her on-leash, just taking her from the back door to the back yard which is no less then ten feet. Got out the door and this German Shepherd comes bolting around the corner and bit our dog on her face.
Good luck with his recovery and I hope that AC gets the guy!

Poor Saxon, I'm glad that he's ok! The nerve of that ahole to excuse that behavior, his dog should be leashed! Grrrr. Murphy has been attacked twice in the neighborhood by 2 diff dogs that were not contained. Well one backed out of his collar and came at him. Both times we had to go to ER vet for staples. Now if I see a loose dog, I head in the opposite direction. As far as the drop the leash thing, better to hold on to it. When the Lab got Murphy, I dropped the leash...can't recall if it was a conscious decision or just panic. I had a foster dog with me, and I had to hold on to him and keep him out of the fray. Murphy wasn't going anywhere cause he was on the ground with the Lab on him :-( When the guy got his dog off of mine, Murphy did get up and start to limp over back at the Lab. That's when I grabbed the leash, and got him home. I was surprised that he wanted more of the beating he just took, I'll never drop the leash again.

Thanks, I'll never forget the sound of him screaming...it was awful :-( Murphy growled at the dog, and that's when he jumped him.

All of his wounds are healing well, but now that it's scabbed over you can see how big it was. He's such a great and happy dog and it makes me so sad that he had to go through this. Look at this sweet pup! How can any one want to hurt him?
