A friend of one of our adoptive homes is looking to add a Pit Bull or Pit Mix to her family. However, the shelters in her area in VA won't adopt the breed out. Anyone know of any rescues/resources in VA?

I see two rescue/shelter programs there which are Virginia Beach Pit Bull Response and Animal Rescue of Tidewater which both have more than one dog listed. THe others seem to have only one.

I was hoping for a direct reference, instead of just sending her cold to some rescue, ya know? Thanks though, CA. That pup Chief is really cute!

Amy isn't doing any rescue anymore, AFAIK. But I bet she could refer, if she doesn't have any avail. dogs. I totally forgot she was in VA!
(And yes, Amy is great - she is on this forum, too, btw.)

she is still rescueing, she is on pbf and had some dogs posted in the rescue section last i saw
