Just to prove how bogus some of these DNA tests are, I decided to test Cappy. I had an old DNA test that I bought from Jeffers 2 years ago and never used once I found out how false they were. For sh!ts and giggles, I sent his in a few weeks ago. Now I know he's not a purebred Pit Bull, but I think it's safe to say that based on looks and temperament that he is definitely mostly Pit.

For all those not familiar with Cappy, here are a few pics.

As per BioPet Lab, Cappy's breeds (in order) are:

Papillon
Am Staff
Shar Pei
Beagle
Newfoundland
English Setter
Westie
Yorkie

By this test, Cappy is twice the amount Papillon as he is AmStaff. Riiiiiight....

The funny thing is, the descriptions of all the breeds use so many adjectives to describe temperament, so any dog owner can read them and say, "Yep, he's like that! Must be that little bit of X in him!"

As we were reading it,Cappy sat in front of us with his toof out, staring intently. "Really, Mommy and Daddy? Tell me mores!"

I guess I can't talk about Cappy anymore since, clearly, he is not a Pit Bull. To think, all this time he was a Papillon in disguise. I guess now I have to buy him little outfits and carry him in my purse. I'm gonna need a BIG purse!
