Everytime any of my dogs gives a kiss (lick) he yawns.
Winnie, Cleveland, Rhett, Gizmo, Lilly all did this. Have you ever noticed it w/ your dogs?
also... Any cures for rancid breath? Cleveland has the worst breath ever. It's gag worthy. He slime's you w/ a smooch, and yawns in your face, if you're lucky you don't get slimed w/ the underside of his tongue... then you want to go take a shower. Or at least wash your face and brush your teeth.

That's cute about the yawning! No, mine don't do that, at least not that I've noticed! If Mav did that, he'd never stop yawning. He's my obsessive face licker, and he does it to everyone he meets. It's like, "Come in! Now sit here and let my dog wash your face!" lol
Maybe Cleveland needs a good dental cleaning. He could have lots of tartar build up that's causing the stink. Or, he could have some kind of absess or infection in his mouth. Try to see inside his mouth to see if there's anything obviously causing the problem. If he's just a stinky young man, give him carrots and some yogurt, both of which are good for the smelly mouth! And maybe some chew toys with textured ends would help. They could manually scratch away the gunk on his teeth.

Rocky has always had a stinky breath. His teeth are actually pretty good the vet is always impressed. However if I do brush his teeth the breath is better for a few days. I should brush his teeth every couple of days but I dont. And since I dont do it often enough he no longer will allow me. so I do it when I see tartar I have a scaler but cant really get back teeth. My son thinks Rocky eats poop and thats why his breath stinks. He could be eating cat poop or something. I hate when he yawns in my face.

None of mine yawn when they kiss. Brandy is constantly kissing/licking everything... seriously, she walks around licking the air. She also has AWFUL breath, yet her teeth are the cleanest and prettiest of all the dogs. She doesn't eat poo, like Otis sometimes does. She doesn't obsessively clean herself, so it's not that. Her breath smells like a farm, which is one the reasons we call her Puppy Cow. We've had her checked out by the vet and there are no obvious causes. Some dogs just have really bad breath.
I have heard that eating people food can cause bad breath. We don't give ours people food, so I know that's not Brandy's problem.

Cleveland has nice white teeth, no tarter to have cleaned up... this morning his breath isn't too awful bad.
I wonder why all the dogs in my house yawn after a good lickin'?

We sell a product at PDog for teeth/breath. It's by Wysong and it looks like Parmesan cheese. Saxon's breath isn't bad so I haven't tried it, but a lot of customers rave about it.
