I think it's a wonderful idea. Just sucks it would be so far away from me!

You could always move to Jersey. It's a really reasonably cheap state to live in....LOL

hah! My cousin is wanting me to move back to Cali. No way. It would be the Norwalk/Whittier area. I can't imagine paying $1500 for a 400sq ft studio apartment.

Went to the county auction back in the fall. Saw 90 acres for a real steal and it was on the same road as Pets Alive. I immediately had the feeling the property was of the woman who had all the rotties that was busted. Sure enough I looked up the address and it was. My husband and I went to look at the property with the possibility of buying. It was off the road and big no trespass sign so we did not risk it. I think it is still up for bids. I still dream about it. Probably could not handle the taxes though.

Just thought I'd throw this out there - if anyone comes across any resources that might be of help to me in terms of opening up a facility, please can you post them here? I am starting to do some research.

What type of resources? In my free time I wouldn't mind doing some research for you. Are you still looking for land if so, how much?

Try to think of a sympathetic type name, Animal Welfare League, Animal Resource Foundation are 2 here in Maryland.
I love Pitts also, but maybe go EZ on the uptake, until you get started. We get a lot of seizeurs, fighting dogs from arrests.
Most of the strays are Amstaffs, Pitts, or bully type crosses anyway.
