I kinda can't stand this response. I have people, upon finding out I'm into Pit Bulls, say this to me on a regular basis (it just happened to me this morning when I stopped to get gas). I wish I could reprogram brains and change the response to, "The breed is amazing and stable; excellent dogs that are completely misunderstood by the general public thanks to the news media. Dogs are dogs are dogs, and they all need training, socialization and responsible ownership. Pit Bulls are born people lovers. No one needs to 'train' them to love people."
Do you think that could catch on? Or is it too long to memorize? ;D

Even when I say it in the media, they cut it out. Maybe not intentionally but they do just the same. I say Leo isn't the exception to the rule he IS the rule. Pit Bulls are born for therapy work or work like it because loving people is IN there temperament, they're born that way. No one is transforming anyone!
Gee that's too long to maybe that's why it's cut out.
I did say it in the ms nbc news clip." It's in their temperament to love humans, they're born for this work" or some such.
It needs to be played millions of times though.

I agree. Even most of the abused PB in the country are still people lovers.

Yeah, I know. People don't take into account that it might be faulty genetics.
One of my pet peeves, if shelters/rescues, that automatically cry "bait dog" or "fighting dog". Now I realize both are possible, but not every dog that comes in with injuries or scars have been used as a bait dog or as a fighting dog. If it was roaming around on the streets, it could have gotten into a fight with another dog, not thrown into a pit.

I've heard some rescue claim a Pit Bull had to be 'bait' just because the dog seemed scared/shy. Oy.
