Yesterday, Bola and Capone were wrestling. And Bola does this thing where he uses his chest and head and squishes Capone. Ive been trying to break this but it obviously is something were still battling. Anyway, yesterday I was in the kitchen with my back turned to the dogs, they were wrestling behind me. All the sudden I hear Capone squealing and yelping and turn around Bola had him squished between the floor and his chest and one of Capones hind legs was bent weird. Well, all day yesterday he held that leg up and wouldn’t put any weight on it. Ive rushed dogs into the vet before for leg injuries and $100 dollars and some pain pills later told its just a torn muscle so I decided to wait a day. Today Capone again, wouldn’t put any weight on it and just wanted to lay around (Which is 100% NOT him) So off to the vet we went. The vet thinks his leg got bent at the knee and tore ligaments and tendons (Like athletes tear ACLs) He said tendons are not like bones and sometimes heal themselves so he gave Capone an anti-inflammatory and pain med and said to give it a week. If in a week there is no improvements we are looking a a $2,000 knee surgery. :/ My questions are this: Has anyone had something similar to this?! If so did their dog heal?? And I know there is something kind of like a credit card for vet bills…I couldn’t find it…Does anyone know what Im talking about?!

Poor Capone. Hopefully it repairs itself. He's going to have to stick with the kitten so he doesn't get hurt!

Yeah, torn ACLs can heal themselves. Limit his activity, no stair climbing or running.

Poor little Capone. www.carecredit.com/Also there are two lists that are good resources. Both are groups. conservative managment for those who do not do surgery and orthodogs for those dogs who have had surgery or will be having surgery.

My manager's dog had to have ACL surgery this winter and he is still not 100%. Hopefully Capone's knee heals itself!
