Hi, I'm Pam. My Sonya is our adorable pit bull, that we adopted from the local SPCA in 2004. She was living on the streets in Chester, PA when they took her in. While there, she had a litter of puppies, which after four weeks or so, she thought they were toys to play with, so they had to separate them (we had her spayed once we adopted her). Since the first day we brought her home, she has been a loving member of our family. She sleeps in our bed, and refuses to stay at the bottom, stretching out in between my husband and me. Her other bed is the sofa, again usually between my husband and me. She taught my husband to give her two milkbones and a begging strip each night when he comes home. When I get home, it's on the bed for loving while I change, then two chicken strips from me. She's trained us well! She's very protective of our 7-year old, keeping a watchful eye, and enduring his hugs and playing like a trooper. She is more loving, loyal, and sweet than any other dog I've known, and I had four dogs growing up, and one of my own before her. This breed has an ill-gotten reputation, by those that were trained to be vicious and were reported in the news. I constantly tell people how wrong the info is about pits, and how sweet and loving mine is.
